“Pol.Gen. Adul” Visits Model Companies Supporting Disabled Workers in Ratchaburi

              The Labour Minister visited Ratchaburi to meet employers and employees, and visit organizations with supporting facilities for the disabled in accordance with Section 35 of the Persons with Disabilities Empowerment Act. 

 

 

         
              On November 12, 2018, Labour Minister H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo together with Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark and the Ministry of Labour’s executives, visited Racha Ceramic Co., Ltd., located at 8 Moo 3, Nong Or, Ban Pong, Ratchaburi. The company is a ceramic business which currently employs 1,882 workers, comprising 561 male, 1,321 female, 20 disabled and 10 child workers in attendance with an allowance of 400 Baht per month. And the employment situation of the establishment. The Labour Minister and the team listened to a summary of the business, problems and suggestions regarding labour, including the employment situation of the company.
The Labour Minister and the team then visited Namchow (Thailand) Co., Ltd., located at 59/4 Moo 10, Nong Or, Ban Pong, Ratchaburi. The company is in the semi-finished food production business manufacturing instant noodles and snacks which currently employs 1,397 workers, comprising 182 male, 1,215 female, 14 Burmese nationals and 4 disabled workers. The Ministry of Labour supports the facilities for the disabled under Section 35 of the Persons with Disabilities Empowerment Act B.E. 2550 by providing space for disabled persons to sell goods.
              The Ministry of Labour has also organized training courses to raise the skill level of employees at Racha Ceramic Co., Ltd., and Namchow (Thailand) Co., Ltd. in 2016 to 2018, such as English for communication, forklift maintenance and control and management strategy and logistics management 4.0 for example. In 2019, the Ratchaburi Skill Development Institute 4 will coordinate and plan training for the two companies, which will open training in December 2019 in the course of high-tech training to support future industries, spanning 30 hours.
              Ratchaburi currently has 456,703 people in the workforce, comprising 449,008 employed workers and 5,607 unemployed workers, equating to a 67.3 employment rate and 1.2 unemployment rate; seasonal workers account for 2,088 people or 0.3 per cent. There are 4,884 companies, 172,544 insurers, 249,470 informal works and 50,091 migrant workers.
