“Pol.Gen. Adul” Visits Mukdahan to Prepare Quality Workforce for Mekong Special Economic Zone

              The Labour Minister visited Mukdahan province to prepare high-performance workers in support of the Mekong Special Economic Zone expansion and resolve labour shortage problems, creating a network of labour to develop close relationships in CLMVT countries.

 


               On January 25, 2019, at Labour Minister, H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo chaired the opening ceremony of the seminar on the preparation of high-performance workers for economic growth at Ploy Ballroom, Ploy Palace Hotel, Muang, Mukdahan; Deputy Governor of Mukdahan Province Mr. Suwit Chanawor gave an opening address. In his speech, the Labour Minister said that this seminar was a collaboration between the government and the private sector for workforce development in the GMS countries to support the expansion of the regional economy. The initiative aims to upgrade the quality of workplace management, labour-related personnel, solving the problem of quality worker shortages in the region as well as create a network and good labour relations as a twin city in the CLMVT group of countries.
               Pol.Gen. Adul said that the Ministry of Labour thanked all sectors for their participation and support in the seminar to strengthen the link between economic and social strength. The event demonstrated good cooperation between countries in the Greater Mekong Subregion in creating mutual benefits and being a partner for human resource development to build confidence among investors and neighboring countries.
               This seminar was attended by the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Savannakhet, Laos, executives and staff from the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare in Savannakhet, the Savan-Seno SEZ Manager, business operators in the Savan-Seno Special Economic Zone, government and private sector representatives from Mukdahan, the Mekong Institute (MI), the Mukdahan Provincial Industry Council, Mukdahan Provincial Chamber of Commerce, executives of relevant educational institutions, students and the general public, totaling 120 participants. The attendees exchanged learning experiences in preparation for the workforce and super workers, to support the economic expansion of the region as well as neighboring countries. Preparing high-performance workers for economic growth on special economic zones in the Greater Mekong Subregion will create cooperation between the government and the private sector in the GMS countries to perform well, support the expansion of the regional economy, raise the quality of business management and labour-related personnel as a solution to the shortage of quality workers (Super Workers) in the region, to create a network and good labour relations as a twin city in the CLMVT countries.
