Taiwanese Executive Yuan is poised to lift a ban to allow skilled and executive-level white-collar workers from mainland to work on the island.

The Executive Yuan invited ministers at Economic Affairs Ministry, Interior Ministry and Immigration Agency for a meeting to consider a draft regulation amendment to allow white-collar workers from the mainland to work on the island.

The existing regulations only allowed foreign multinational enterprises to transfer Chinese executives to positions in Taiwan.

The meeting resolved to extend the treatment to Taiwanese multinational enterprises, citing fairness. Chinese executives’ partner and children will also be allowed to stay on the island for 1-3 years.

A Taiwanese multinational enterprise is a Taiwanese company that has their branches located in at least two countries with parent company supervising and controlling the company’s policy.
