Thailand Chairs ASEAN Plus Three Senior Labour Officials Meeting under Principle of “Advancing Partnership for Sustainability”

           The Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour commenced the 17th ASEAN Plus Three Senior Labour Officials Meeting. In the opening, he reported that the Ministry of Labour has worked as a partner in the ASEAN region, supporting the ASEAN community to become a strong and capable workforce, adapting to support the change of the population structure and industrial revolution under Thailand’s ASEAN chairmanship principle of “Advancing Partnership for Sustainability.”

 

 

         On July 4, 2019, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suradej Waleeittikul commenced the 17th ASEAN Plus Three Senior Labour Officials at Amari Watergate Hotel, Bangkok. He said that on behalf of the Ministry of Labour, it is a great honour to host the 17th ASEAN Plus Three Senior Labour Officials meeting and is ready to support the chief of the senior staff delegation and the ASEAN senior officials throughout the session.
         The Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour further said that this year, Thailand is the ASEAN chair. Under the ASEAN chairmanship of Thailand, the Ministry of Labour recognizes the importance of expanding cooperation with relevant sectors both within and outside ASEAN, and therefore this year, the principle under Thailand’s chairmanship is “Advancing Partnership for Sustainability.”
         The ASEAN Plus Three, which includes Japan, Korea and China, is considered an important development stakeholder, where technical and academic exchanges are made within the region, which are essential factors in promoting cooperation. This is especially with the current industrial revolution and population structure changes where there must be cooperation and strengthening to respond to changes. The Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour said that he believes that the ASEAN Plus Three countries can support ASEAN community to be better, with a workforce that can adjust and has a determined direction of future operations.
