The Ministry of Labour joined the IOM meeting to discuss the exchange of labour market information through the central information system for migrant workers in the ASEAN region.
On February 21, 2019, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark assigned the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General, Mr. Somsak Apiwantanakul to chair the opening of a meeting to discuss the promotion of management on labour market information exchange through the central information system for migrant workers in ASEAN. The meeting took place at the Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok.
On this occasion, Mr. Somsak thanked IOM for organizing this project with summarized the workshop on labour market data for migration in 2018. The IOM will use this data to develop information in the web portal for publishing in ASEAN member countries. As for the Ministry of Labour, representatives from the Department of Employment and the Department of Skill Development attended this meeting.
