Thailand – Korea signed MOU on academic to develop the pension system for the insured.

           On 27 September 2018, H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labour and his delegation visited 13 Thai workers at Sol-tech in Hwaseong, which manufactures auto spare parts and has hired Thai workers for more than 17 years. After that, 14 Thai workers were visited at the company of S.Pavinee in Hwaseong, the manufacturer of meatballs, sausages, sour pork.

 

           Gen. Adul presided over the MOU signing ceremony between the Social Security Office of Thailand and the National Pension Fund (NPS) of the Republic of Korea at the International Cooperation Center National Pension Office Republic of Korea. The importance of this Mutual Memorandum of Understanding is that there are many collaborations between the Social Security Office and the National Pension Service (NPS) of the Korean government, including staff exchanges, administrative and operational staff, exchange of personnel to enhance the capacity of the organization, exchange of legal and policy information for the purpose of revising the social security law, including the exchange of policy experiences, academic conferences and workshops, promotion and exchange of learning both in Asia and international Collaboration in the field of collaborative research, including the extension of informal labor protection, the adaptation of contributions, the advantages and disadvantages of social security agreements, the design of legislation and the policy of development data governance, and large database development, etc.
           The National Pension Service (NPS), Republic of Korea Is an independent organization under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Jeonju is currently headquartered in Jeonju City and the International Office in Seoul, with around 5,500-6,000 staff with a budget of around 400 million. USD is responsible for protecting the insured person in old age, disability, and dependents. Currently, there are around 22 million insured persons, including compulsory labor, 97.4%, voluntary 1.3%, and the retirement sector that contributes 1.3% to the Thai labor force. According to Statistics, in the year 2017, Thai nationals received 137 NPS pensions and 52,000 reimbursed members.
