On August 30, 2561, H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor, revealed that the Ministry of Labor received the Grace from HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over the opening ceremony of the 12th ASEAN Handicraft Competition at IMPACT Arena, Muang Thong Thani, Pakkred. Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Labor, Mr. Suthi Sukosol, Director-General of Department of Skill Development, and Senior Executives, Ministry of Labor welcomed for the visit. The cabinet resolution on November 24, 2015 approved the Ministry of Labor by The Department of Skill Development hosts the 12th ASEAN Skills Competition “World Skills ASEAN Bangkok 2018” under the concept of “ASEAN Skills, Crafting the Future” or “ASEAN Skills for the Future”. Skill Development Worker Support for national development by 20 year national strategy and Thailand 4.0 policy.
“World Skills ASEAN Bangkok 2018” The Ministry of Labor is the main unit with 26 organizations and organizations involved in the competition, divided into 24 official branches and 2 demonstration branches during August 31, 2018 – September 2, 2018 at Challenger 1-2, Impact Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi. There are 331 participants in the following 6 professional groups: (1) occupational groups; Manufacturing Technology (2) Communication Technology (3) Fashion and Creativity (4) Transportation and Logistics (5) Construction and Building Technology and (6) Personal and Social Services. It is based on the 11th ASEAN Skillful Handicraft Competition held in Malaysia and the 44th International Skilled Crafts Competition in the United Arab Emirates. Thailand has sent 52 youths to compete in the competition. The winners of this competition will be selected to represent the country in the 45th International Skill Contest to be held in Kazan, United Russia (World Skills Kazan 2019) during 22-27 August 2019.
“There are also One School One Country and ASEAN TVET Conference in parallel with 331 participants from 33 ASEAN member countries. The competition is held for three days, and the closing ceremony and awards will be held on the day. On September 4, 2018, there are prizes for the winners of the competition: Gold Medal 150,000 Baht, Silver Medal 75,000 Baht, Bronze Medal 40,000 Baht, Proficient Medal 20,000 Baht, the consolation prize is 10,000 baht, while the next host is Singapore.
