The Ministry of Labor is ready to promote the rights and opportunities of women migrant workers in ASEAN.

            On August 27, 2018, at 13.00, Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labour assigned Mr. Viwat Tanghong, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labour to preside over the Safe & Fair: Realizing women’s rights and opportunities in the ASEAN region project with Ms. Deepa Bharathi, Chief Technical Advisor Safety and Justice Program: Rights and Opportunities of Women Workers in the ASEAN Region Project representatives and representatives from the International Labor Office in Thailand, Cambodia and Laos to report progress on the Safety and Justice Progrthe in order to come to Thailand and ask for advice on the establishment of the Safety and Justice Project Advisory CommitteI together with the Ministry of Labor at the Reception Room, 7th Floor, Ministry of Labor.

           The Safety and Justice Program is primarily aimed at helping migrant women to better protect their rights under the framework of migration to reduce the number of trafficking, violence, and the exploitation of female workers. Include updated information, knowledge, attitudes, rights, rights of migrant women. The project has been launched. This is the first time in Thailand in April. There are representatives from the Ministry of Labor. Relevant agencies include government agencies, employers’ representatives, employees, civil society, and 50 development partners to discuss issues related to the promotion and protection of migrant women’s rights. In the context of Thailand It also seeks to build links between ASEAN and the rest of the world. It is also supported by the International Labor Organization (ILO) and Indonesia to implement gender equality and empowerment of women in the United Nations. It has a strategic and technical framework both regional and national.
