The Department of Employment invites the public to shop for New Year’s gifts in the event “Shop for the Right Things … for the Right Person.” The event showcases products from freelance groups supported by the Department of Employment. Labour Minister Joins PM Delegation to Phetchabun to Create Social Security and Improve the Quality of Life for Agricultural Workers

          On November 24, 2022, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, joined the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, General Prayuth Chan-ocha’s delegation to visit Phetchabun Province on the occasion of presiding over the KICKOFF ceremony for measures to support and raise income for rice farmers in the 2022/23 harvest year. The measures aim to help rice farmers have an income and financial liquidity in spending, including providing opportunities for farmers to sell rice paddy at a higher price or a price suitable to production costs. Labour Minister Commends Thai Youths Winning 7 Medals from the WorldSkills Competition and Thanks All Sponsors

          On November 2, 2022, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, presided over the awarding of medals and certificates to participants of the 46th WorldSkills Competition and presented a plaque to the sponsors, driving Thai youths to win one silver medal and six medals for excellent craftsmanship to build Thailand’s reputation. The occasion took place at the meeting room on the 5th floor, Ministry of Labour.           The Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, congratulated the participants of the 46th WorldSkills Competition, who were able to win medals on the global stage. This is a success in showing the talent and potential of Thai youths who have skills on par with other nations worldwide. This competition is different from the previous competition, with 15 countries competing in 62 branches between September and October 2022. Thailand had representatives participating in 12 fields, with 13 people and one in the team category. Labour Minister Joins Negotiations with Coordinating Companies to Pay Income Guarantees to Berry Pickers

            On October 17, 2022, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, reported that today, he had assigned the Assistant to the Labour Minister, Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong, to represent the Ministry of Labour in negotiating with a group of representatives from companies, employers and coordinators in Thailand. Labour Minister Assigned DOE and DLPW to Urgently Help Exploited Berry Pickers to Receive Justice

          On October 12, 2022, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Assistant to the Labour Minister, Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong, the Department of Employment’s Director-General, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasatien, and the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare’s Director-General, Mr. Niyom Songkaew, were representatives in receiving a letter from Mr. Teerasak Phakdinopparat, a native of Udon Thani province, who led 22 berry-picking workers in Finland and 27 in Sweden, for a total of 49 people, to submit a letter to the Labour Minister to call on the Ministry of Labour to help in the case of unfair wages and welfare.            On October 8, 2022, at 11.00 hours, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned the Assistant Minister from the Prime Minister’s Office performing duties for the Ministry of Labour, Mr. Pornsak Charoenprasert, to visit Sisaket Province to donate relief bags to flood victims. The Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, are concerned for the people affected by the floods. Labour Minister Takes PM Orders to Urgently Support the Families of Victims of the Mass Shooting in Nong Bua Lamphu.

          The Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, spoke about the shooting inside a child care center in Tambon Uthai Suwan, Na Klang District, Nong Bua Lamphu Province, causing 37 deaths and ten injured people. He expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and those injured in the shocking incident. The Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, General Prayuth Chan-ocha, ordered the relevant agencies to urgently support the families of the deceased and wounded. The Labour Minister has instructed the Social Security Office to pay compensation benefits for the two deceased insured persons. The first person is Mr. Santi Prathumchai, an insured person under Section 33 and an employee of the Uthai Sawan Subdistrict Administrative Organization. He died while performing work duties. His beneficiaries will receive entitlements from the Compensation Fund, which includes funeral expenses of 50,000 Baht, 120 months of compensation in the event of death amounting to 1,078,560 Baht, and old age pension of 35,226 Baht, totaling 1,163,786 Baht.
