Labour Minister Develops Labour Graduates in Every District, Piloting the Southern Border Provinces, Emphasizing Sharing Information to Support Employment and Peace

            The Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson, Mr. Phumiphat Mueanchan, said that the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, has the policy to produce labour graduates to represent the Ministry of Labour in the public sector in all 878 districts throughout Thailand within two years. Labour graduates act as a link with the local people, providing knowledge, information, and labour services, including promoting careers and employment in collaboration with agencies of the Ministry of Labour. In the past, a pilot project was to hire graduates who graduated with a bachelor’s degree to be volunteer labour graduates in the southern border provinces, namely Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, and four districts of Songkhla Province (Chana, Nathawi, Thepha, Saba Yoi), totaling 380 people. This year, in 2024, there will be another 113 people nationwide. Labour Minister Assigns Advisor to Visit Narathiwat, Joining Hands with Religious Schools in Five Provinces to Upskill Southern Border Youths

          On July 15, 2024, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, assigned the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mr. Thanat Thaweekueakulkit to preside over the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation on skill development between the Department of Skills Development’s Director-General, Ms. Bubpha Rueangsud, and the Vice President of the Network of Private Islamic Schools in the Southern Border Provinces, Mr. Muhammad Nasiruddin Lehnu.      On July 15, 2024, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, assigned the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mr. Thanat Thaweekueakulkit, to chair the opening of the “Creating Jobs and Career Paths@Menaro”. The Department of Employment’s Director-General, Mr. Somchai Morakotsriwan, gave a report. The Chairman of the Labour Minister’s Working Group, Mr. Najmuddin Umar also joined the ceremony. MOL Leads Volunteer Workers in Bangkok to Join Together to Plant Mangrove Forests in Honour of His Majesty the King

          On July 15, 2024, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, assigned the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Decha Phruekpattanarak to preside over the opening ceremony of the project in honour of His Majesty the King, whereby labour volunteers in Bangkok joined the volunteer project to develop their hometown. The Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General, Ms. Mrs. Marasri Jairangsi, and the Assistant to the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Sakdinart Sonthisakyotin, joined the occasion. On July 16, 2024, at 15:30 hours, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, led the executive team and agencies under the Ministry of Labour to participate in recording an offering of blessings ceremony to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, on the occasion of Her Majesty’s birthday on August 12, 2024. On July 10, 2024, at 17.00 hours, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, chaired the opening of the 30th National Skills Competition, regional level, at the Prem Music Hall, Thaksin University. The First Batch Departs; Labour Minister Discusses the Return of Thai Workers to Israel and Instructs the Secretariat to Prioritize Worker Safety

     On June 25, 2024, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, assigned the Secretariat to the Labour Minister, Mr. Aree Krainara, and the Department of Employment’s Director-General, Mr. Somchai Morakotsriwan to visit and encourage the first batch of Thai workers who will travel to work in the agricultural sector in Israel, after Thailand’s pause on sending workers to Israel.     The Secretariat to the Labour Minister, Mr. Aree Krainara, said that today, the Ministry of Labour is scheduled to send the first 100 Thai workers to Israel, part of the quota of 10,000 workers, under the “Thailand-Israel Cooperation on the Placement of Workers” (TIC). The workers traveled via a particular charter flight, El Al Israel Airlines, flight LY 084, with 40 people, departing from Suvarnabhumi Airport, Thailand, at 16.25 hours, arriving at Ben-Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv at 23.00 hours local time. Labour Minister Organizes Job Expo 2024, Offering Over 700,000 Position Vacancies, Emphasizing Support For Over 1 Million Thai Workers This Year

The Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson, Mr. Phumiphat Mueanchan, reported that the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, has invited the public to join Thailand’s most fun income-generating job fair or Job Expo Thailand 2024 between June 28 to 30, 2024, from 11.00 to 21.00 hours at Halls 6 – 7, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. There will be 222 employers/establishments recruiting, offering over 700,000 job positions nationwide to support job applicants. The companies include Minor International, Huawei Technology (Thailand), Thai Airways International, Thai Namthip Corporation, Thai Beverages, and others. There will be 30 overseas employers/establishments offering over 100,000 overseas job positions in countries such as Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Poland, Malaysia, Portugal, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Israel. The most popular positions include construction, welders, the bicycle industry, foremen, and domestic workers, which have a relatively high wage rate. Labour Minister Concerned About Workplace Injuries Accelerates Safety Campaigns, Prepares to Organize a Big Event Drawing All Parties to Participate 

   The Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson, Mr. Phumiphat Mueanchan, said that the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, was closely following the number of work-related dangers or illnesses. Over the past five years, the number of employees experiencing danger or illness from work decreased from 94,906 in 2019 to 81,509 in 2023, and from 2019 – 2023, Bangkok was the area where employees encountered the most danger. The causes of the more severe accidents are objects or things that cut or pierce. The organs that employees experienced the most significant dangers were fingers or thumbs. The age group of employees who suffered the most hazards was between 25 – 29 years. The type of business with the highest number of hazards was residential building construction.
