On June 20, 2022, Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, chaired the meeting of the Moral Promotion Subcommittee at the Ministry of Labour Level No. 1/2022 at the Prasong Rananant Meeting Room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour. The meeting acknowledged the Order of the National Moral Promotion Committee No. 4/2016 regarding the appointment of the Moral Promotion Subcommittee at the ministry level. It also considered guidelines for enforcing the Code of Ethics to the Board, the Order of the Moral Promotion Subcommittee, Ministry of Labour No. 1/2022, regarding the appointment of advisors and a working group to prepare and drive the master plan and action plan for moral promotion within the Ministry of Labour dated June 2, 2022. Furthermore, the meeting considered the criteria for assessing moral organizations for 2022. On June 16, 2022, Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, presided over the meeting to clarify Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for preliminary screening to seek indications for persons with reasonable suspicion of being victims of labour exploitation, forced labour, or human trafficking in labour. Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, spoke about the case of a Thai husband and wife being murdered in Taiwan on June 10. The names of the deceased are Mr. Prasert Norat, 32, a native of Ubon Ratchathani, and Ms. Potjanee Chaelee, 36, a native of Chiang Mai. The Ministry of Labour asked the Department of Employment to investigate. They found that Mr. Prasert had traveled to work through an employment agency in 2017 and applied to the fund to help job seekers work abroad. When his contract expired, he returned to Thailand but later returned to Taiwan, married, and lived with Ms. Pojanee with a permanent residence card. On May 2, 2022, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong spoke about the case of the media presenting news of a Thai woman claiming to be deceived into working in Dubai. According to Mrs. Plida Ruamkham, Ambassador Counselor (on Labour) of the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, the woman was not deceived, as stated in the news. She had intended to travel to work as a masseuse, however, did not know how to massage and therefore had no customers and wanted to return home. Her daughter claimed to the media that she had been deceived into prostitution and detained. The police and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have already removed her from the store.
