MOL Molds Candles for Asanha Puja 2017

           On 3 July 2017 at 13.30, Labour Minister General Sirichai Distakul chaired the candle molding ceremony on the occasion of Asanha Puja and Lent. Permanent Secretary of Labour M.L. Puntrik Smiti and executives, led the Ministry of Labour’s officers and officials to the ceremony at the ministry’s foyer.

MOL Joins Anti-Human Trafficking Day 2017

          On 5 June 2017 at 13.30, Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha, chaired the 2017 Anti-Human Trafficking Day under the theme “civil state working together for anti-corruption”. Efforts have been made to promote collaboration between relevant government units, the people and communities in preventing and eliminating human trafficking though raising better awareness. Over 400 participants joined the event which consisted of anti-human trafficking committees and executives from relevant units throughout the nation, and representatives from various organizations. Anti-Human Trafficking Efforts Improve with High Aims for 2017

         The Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General and deputy spokesperson Mrs. Petcharat Sinouy, spoke about the media’s presentation of survey findings on the worsening situation of human trafficking. She explained the Ministry of Labour’s efforts on solutions to the issues which has resulted in Thailand’s move up to Tier 2 on the Watch List from its previous position in Tier 3 this last year. The ministry has also devised measures to promote equality amongst workers of all nationalities, which focuses on thorough process inspections in all industries and organizations of all sizes, prioritizing those with risks of child labour, slavery, debt bondage and human trafficking.

Steady Employment Growth in Q1 of 2017

            The Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General and deputy spokesperson Mrs. Petcharat Sinouey, spoke after the ministry’s meeting explaining the necessity for structural reform, starting with the establishment of a “Labour Economics Office”. The reform is aimed to align with the 20-year national strategy and the national workforce development strategy. An MOU signing will take place with Thammasart University’s Faculty of Economics on 11 May, working with the Labour Economics Office on studies to provide advice on policy and development for the nation’s human resources.

MOL Officers Blessed on Songkran 2017

             On 12 April 2017 at 13.00 at the Permanent Secretary’s foyer, officers and officials at the Ministry of Labour asked for blessings from Permanent Secretary of Labour M.L. Puntrik Smiti, Deputy Permanent Secretaries Mr. Boonlert Teerakul, Mr. Singadet Chu-umnart and Mr. Anurak Tossarat, on the occasion of the Songkran Festival for 2017. The event is a Thai tradition which takes place during the Thai New Years.

 

Labour Minister Joins Merit Giving Ceremony for 2017

           On 12 April 2016 at 07.00, Labour Minister General Sirichai Distakul joined the merit giving ceremony on the occasion of the Songkran Festival 2017. The Labour Minister poured water on the hands of Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha and wife, Assistant Professor Naraporn Chan-ocha in a show of respect and blessing for the Thai New Years. The ceremony took place at the Government Houses.

 

MOL Organizes National Seniors Day 2017

             On 10 April 2017, the Ministry of Labour’s affiliated units in Nontaburi joined the National Seniors Day for 2017 under the theme “Senior Population for National Development”. The event held training, consultations and physical examinations amongst other services, at the Grand Diamond Ballroom in Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi.

 

MOL Lucky Draw 2017 Results Revealed

           On 5 April 2017 at 16.15, Vice President of the Ladies Association Mrs. Nutpicha Tossarat chaired the drawing for the MOL Red Cross lucky draw, where money raised will be presented to the delegation of the Thai Red Cross. The event took place at the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University. The results were:

 

Civil Service Day 2017 Honours Principles of Late King

           Today (31 March 2017), Permanent Secretary of Labour M.L. Puntrik Smiti joined the viewing of the exhibition for the Civil Service Day 2017, representing the Ministry of Labour has the host of the event this year. The exhibition was placed at the Santi Maitree building at the Government Houses, where Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha gave a statement on the occasion. The Civil Service Day 2017 is organized annually to honour admirable and outstanding civil servants, allowing the people to see and understand their roles and importance.

Monk Offering Ceremony for March 2017

            On 31 March 2017 at 07.45, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Singhadet Chu-umnart led the Ministry of Labour’s officials and officers to the offering ceremony for 9 monks. The event was held for the monthly offering ceremony for March 2017, which took place at the ministry’s foyer.

International Women’s Day 2017 Trophy Recipients Awarded by Princess Soamsawali

            On 8 March 2017 at 14.00, Princess Soamsawali presided over the awarding of trophies to outstanding women on the occasion of the International Women’s Day 2017, to which Labour Minister General Sirichai Distakul, Permanent Secretary of Labour M.L. Puntrik Smiti, the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare’s Director-General Sumet Mahosot and executives also attended. 


 

MOL Prepares for Civil Service Day 2017

Today (1 March 2017) at the Prasong Rananant Conference Room, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Anurak Tossarat chaired the subcommittee meeting on the Civil Service Day, preparing for this year’s activities. Each year different ministries take turns to host the event, to which the Ministry of Labour is responsible for this year’s activities which will take place 31 March 2017 from 10.30 – 21.00 at the Bangkok Convention Center, Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao, in Bangkok. This year’s theme will be “Following in the footsteps of King Rama 9”, which will integrate royal principles throughout the past 7 decades, in honour of the late King.

 

Ministry of Labour Launches 2017 Children’s Day Event

            Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha chaired the opening ceremony for the 2017 Children’s Day event. He said, “The government has emphasized that the children today will be an important part of the nation’s future, and has therefore focused on developing Thai youths to be both knowledgeable and ethical, having a good quality of life both physically and emotionally.   DOWNLOAD IMAGES               The government has promoted entities throughout the nation to organize activities to celebrate the national Children’s Day, as a gift to the children and to promote thinking, self-development and creativity as well as ethics, teamwork and preservation of culture; this will drive the nation forward.
