Ministry of Labour Launches 2017 Children’s Day Event

            Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha chaired the opening ceremony for the 2017 Children’s Day event. He said, “The government has emphasized that the children today will be an important part of the nation’s future, and has therefore focused on developing Thai youths to be both knowledgeable and ethical, having a good quality of life both physically and emotionally.

 

 

            The government has promoted entities throughout the nation to organize activities to celebrate the national Children’s Day, as a gift to the children and to promote thinking, self-development and creativity as well as ethics, teamwork and preservation of culture; this will drive the nation forward. Teachers, children, families and parents are also important to motivating children and guiding them to meet their life goals.”
Permanent Secretary of Labour M.L. Puntrik Smiti said, “The Ministry of Labour has joined this year Children’s Day event ‘the land of happiness in the King’s footsteps’, led by the Office of the Permanent Secretary and the Social Security Office. The event aims to make the children happy and also emphasizes the importance of children in developing the nation’s future. The event also aims to ensure the children are healthy, both physically and emotionally, equipped with the knowledge and ethics to live a quality life, be a good citizen and to be a strong part of the future workforce. We have organized an exhibition and many activities such as quizzes, games, spin-the-wheel and lucky draws with plenty beverages, snacks and presents given throughout the day. This year, activities will also be held at the Smart Job Center at the Ministry of Labour on Din Daeng road. Activities were organized by the Department of Employment, the Department of Skills Development and the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, to promote learning about the working life. Activities include examples of skills assessment, working technology, freelance professions and workplace safety.”
