May 1, 2025 – Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, presided over the National Labour Day 2025 celebrations at Lan Khon Mueang, Bangkok. Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, presided over the opening of the National Labour Day 2025 event, whereby Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, Permanent Secretary of Labour, gave a report. Mr. Phiphat spoke about public service activities during Songkran 2025 by each department as follows: The Department of Employment has resolved to allow migrant workers from Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar who have valid work permits to travel back to visit their families during Songkran and return to work in Thailand without having to apply for a Re-Entry Permit. The grace period is April 1 to May 15, 2025. If workers return after May 15, they must re-apply for a permit according to the normal procedure. On January 30, 2025, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, spoke about the progress in the case of a technical trainee who died in Japan and expressed his deepest condolences to the deceased’s family. Regarding assistance in terms of legal entitlements to be received by the beneficiaries, the Permanent Secretary of Labour was assigned to follow up on the progress of the matter and coordinate to proceed according to the family’s wishes to send the ashes back to Thailand.
