Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, revealed that the Ministry of Labour, through the Department of Employment, is ready to host JOB EXPO THAILAND 2025—the largest and most comprehensive national job fair of the year. The event will take place from June 6–8, 2025, from 10.00 to 19.00 hours at Halls 5–6, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, under the theme “More Than Just a Job Fair”. The aim is to open employment opportunities to people of all ages and groups and to prepare the future workforce. The event will feature over 500,000 domestic job positions and over 100,000 international job opportunities alongside various activities that provide career guidance, skill enhancement, vocational training, and integrated employment support. A lifestyle zone, “SSO MARKET 2025,” will also be featured, combining fashion, food, art, entertainment, and engaging workshops in one venue. It is expected that more than 80,000 visitors will participate in the event.
Mr. Phiphat added that the government, led by Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, places great importance on reducing social inequality and enhancing the quality of life for the people, especially by creating opportunities for employment across all age groups for a stable career and sufficient income for living. However, the Thai labour market is now facing significant challenges from the evolving population structure, where it has become an aging society with the declining birth rate and a shrinking working-age population. Additionally, technological changes have transformed the production model in various industries, especially artificial intelligence (AI), which is changing the ways of thinking, working, and skills required. Currently, over 60% of Thai workers lack the necessary skills aligned with future industrial demands. As such, workforce planning to ensure an appropriately sized and skilled labour force is an urgent mission for the Ministry of Labour to support sustainable economic development. The goal is for people of all ages to have access to suitable employment and essential skills development to meet both current and future industry demands.
To concretely advance this policy, JOB EXPO THAILAND 2025 is being organized under the concept of “More Than Just a Job Fair”—not just a space to apply for jobs but a platform to inspire, educate, and prepare the workforce for future demands. The event is designed for all demographics, including new graduates, job seekers, career changers, persons with disabilities, and the elderly, to ensure inclusive employment opportunities. It also promotes the development of skills relevant to the modern labour market, career guidance, and a deeper understanding of labour dynamics. The ultimate goal is to help people discover career paths that align with their knowledge, abilities, and personal strengths, leading to stable income and sustainably improved quality of life.
Mr. Phiphat further disclosed that in terms of driving labour-related efforts to assist employers and employees while tangibly stimulating the Thai economy, the Ministry is aiming for all labour groups to have stable jobs and income amidst global labour changes. In addition to creating over 600,000 job opportunities through Job Expo Thailand 2025, both domestic and international, the Ministry is partnering with the Social Security Office to launch a 20 billion Baht loan program to boost liquidity for enterprises (up to 50 million Baht per borrower via banks). Furthermore, another 100 billion Baht will be allocated for insured persons under Sections 33, 39, and 40 to access micro-loans for supplementary careers and start-up investments (up to 100,000–300,000 Baht per person) to help increase income and ensure long-term financial security. The Ministry of Labour’s three main campaigns to stimulate the economy via tripartite collaboration (government–employers–employees) are:
- Organizing Job Expo 2025 and generating new job positions.
- Issuing loans to assist employers with liquidity.
- Providing microfinance for employees to start secondary careers
Mr. Somchai Morakotsriwan, Director-General of the Department of Employment, said that JOB EXPO THAILAND 2025 is being held in line with the policy of Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour. The event will combine job matching and career development under the theme “More Than Just a Job Fair.” The fair features various activities, such as domestic job matching from over 172 top employers and online recruitment firms offering more than 500,000 positions. For those unable to attend in person, consultations and job search advice will be available via the “Thai Mee Ngan Tham” and “Kon Tham Ngan” apps. International job matching will also be offered, featuring over 100,000 positions from various countries. Advisory booths will be available to guide participants on overseas job preparation, with on-site registration open. Special zones will also be set up for elderly and disabled job seekers, offering personalized counseling and job-matching services tailored to each individual’s potential. There will also be activities promoting freelancing and self-employment for those seeking supplemental income or business start-ups, including demonstrations of 8 freelance careers, exhibitions, and product sales by 13 top franchises, six home-based work groups, and 10 OTOP producers, creating opportunities for employment, careers, and income generation.
Mr. Somchai further highlighted the main feature that makes JOB EXPO THAILAND 2025 more than a typical job fair: comprehensive workforce readiness to meet both current and future industrial needs. Activities will include inspirational talks by over 30 nationally recognized speakers who will share insights on career development and necessary skill sets, promoting an understanding of industry demands. There will also be education and career guidance from 9 leading academic institutions, helping students choose educational paths that align with their aptitudes and career goals. In addition, career counseling clinics and aptitude testing services will be available for students who wish to explore their career suitability. A highlight not to be missed is the UPSKILL and RE SKILL Zone, where over 20 top skill development organizations will offer knowledge on upgrading labour quality for better career prospects. For those interested in freelancing, the Department of Employment is partnering with the Social Security Office to organize SSO MARKET 2025, a market showcasing diverse work opportunities for insured persons to earn extra income while also raising public awareness of the importance of social security systems.
“We expect that JOB EXPO THAILAND 2025 will greatly benefit the target population, especially new graduates, those seeking new jobs, those looking to change careers, and even those in search of inspiration to start freelance careers. I would like to invite everyone to come explore new opportunities and receive career guidance to discover suitable job options and career paths at this event,” Mr. Somchai concluded.
