Relevant agencies attended the meeting via the Zoom application. The meeting considered Foreign NGOs’ requests for renewal of their licenses to work as foreign NGOs, to extend the period of operation in Thailand, to add additional objectives and locations, to change the type of operation, to request a new officer, and for renewal of work permits of 11 foreign organizations. The Ministry of Labour assigned its Advisor to visit Khon Kaen to drive the visit and follow up on the policy of one province, one project, with pilot training in 6 provinces, upgrading informal workers towards smart farmers. On January 24, 2022, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, to visit Khon Kaen to observe training courses for entrepreneurs in smart agriculture to drive the policy to raise the income level and community economy. The visit focused on one province, one project (curriculum) for informal worker groups, including developing additional vocational training courses focusing on innovation and suitable technology by the community for sustainable communities. The visiting committee also met, talked, and asked about issues with trainees and operators during the training. Advisor to the Labour Minister Dr. Chamlong Chuayrod and Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Ms. Bubpha Rueangsud joined in honoring the opening ceremony of the meeting at Jompol P. Phibulsongkram meeting room, 5th Floor, Ministry of Labour. The Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour said that the COVID-19 situation greatly affected various occupations. It has resulted in new career models of employment through digital platforms as well as causing more workers to choose occupations known as informal workers. Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin spoke about the progress on bed management to support Sections 33 and 39 insured persons infected with COVID-19 from the current pandemic situation. He said that the Ministry of Labour by the Social Security Office had prepared hospital medical personnel in the social security network, with nearly 20,000 beds in Hospitels; approximately 12,000 beds have been used. Once the insured person recovers and the doctors allow them to go home, the beds will be empty again. Insured persons are circulating in and out every day. At the same time, the Social Security Office will coordinate to find additional beds to support adequate treatment of the insured. On January 17, 2022, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong joined the Sustainable Development (SD) Board of Director’s Meeting No. 1/2022 via the electronic system at the Permanent Secretary of Labour’s Meeting Room, 7th Floor, Ministry of Labour. The meeting monitored the progress of the mission-driven action of the responsible agencies and coordinated the principles of driving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and 169 targets. It also acknowledged the implementation of Thailand’s SDG Roadmap, the Voluntary National Review (VNR) 2021, considered improvements to sub-committees and working groups under the Sustainable Development Committee, including guidelines for driving the country’s sustainable development goals in the next phase.
