            On December 22, 2024, at 09.00 hours, Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, assigned Mr. Samat Pattamasukon, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, to chair the “Ministry of Labour’s Big Cleaning Day.” The Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-Generals, Ms. Bunyawee Khaipan, and Mr. Pichet Thongphan, together with the Ministry of Labour’s executives, civil servants, officials, housekeepers, and security guards, participated in the activity at the Ministry of Labour’s building. Labour Minister Sets Up the Ministry of Labour’s Kitchen; Assigns Secretariat to Prepare 5,000 Meal Boxes for Flood Victims in the South

On December 18, 2024, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, assigned Mr. Aree Krainara, the Secretariat to the Labour Minister, to attend to the issue. On this occasion, Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, assigned Mr. Santi Nantasuwan, the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General, to visit the area, assess the situation, and assist flood victims in the southern province of Nakhon Si Thammarat. Labour Minister Ranks Second for Social Ministries and Ministers: the “Workers’ Favourite” with People Most Satisfied with Outcomes, According to the Super Poll Survey

Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, spoke about the Super Poll Research Center, which presented the survey results on the evaluation of the Ministry of Social and Economics’ performance. The survey was a case study that sampled people in all professions nationwide on topics such as project implementation and included a total of 1,156 samples for statistical analysis. The survey took place between December 10 to 14, 2024. One of the questions asked about the top three ministers of the Ministry of Social Affairs that survey participants were most satisfied with. The results showed that the Ministry of Labour, represented by Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, was ranked second, with a score of 7.41 out of 10. Minister of Labor Proposes Two Government Representatives for Wage Committee and Relief Measures for Flood Victims to Resume Their Occupations

          On November 29, 2024, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labor, disclosed details following the Cabinet meeting held at Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, Chiang Mai Province. The event was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Labor, including Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, Permanent Secretary; Mr. Somchai Morakotsriwan, Director-General of the Department of Employment; Mr. Pichet Thongpan, Inspector-General; and Mr. Sakdinat Sonthisakdiyothin, Assistant Permanent Secretary. Before the meeting, the Minister and his team visited booths showcasing occupational group products.           During the meeting, the Ministry of Labor proposed three items for acknowledgment. Thai Worker’s Body Returns Home from Israel; Phiphat Urges Thai Labourers to Follow Safety Measures Strictly

On October 22, 2024, at 2:00 PM, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, announced that the body of a Thai worker who had died from an explosion at a kibbutz in northern Israel had been repatriated. The Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv sent the worker’s body back via Israel Airlines flight LY 081, which arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport today at 2:00 PM. The body will be transferred to the worker’s hometown by 7:00 PM for a religious funeral ceremony, scheduled for Friday, October 25, 2024, at Wat Ban Nong Khon, Krasang District, Buriram Province. Minister Phiphat urged Thai workers in Israel to closely follow Israeli safety instructions and evacuation orders, ensuring they remain in designated green zones only. He emphasized that workers should stay informed through the Thai Embassy and the Ministry of Labour’s offices, which are committed to looking after their welfare.             The Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson, Mr. Phumiphat Mueanchan, reported that the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, has instructed the heads of the Ministry of Labour’s departments or the five labour leaders, labor volunteers, and graduates in the flood-affected areas to inspect and integrate with all agencies, both civilian, military, and local, to help employees and the affected people, to provide them with necessities for living. He also urged them to help expedite the Ministry of Labour’s urgent employment projects, for which agencies have already received budgets for areas where the situation has begun to improve. The project will employ people or victims who want to help restore the damage and clean up houses, shops, and important places that have been affected, and will run for 5 to 7 consecutive days.      On September 20, 2024, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, gave a report after the 22nd Wage Committee meeting No. 9/2024. He said that today’s meeting did not fail, but the quorum was not complete because representatives from the government sector did not attend the meeting. Labour Minister Concerns About Flooding in Chiang Rai Emphasizes for Agencies to Mobilize Personnel to Support Victims

The Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, spoke about the flash floods and forest runoff resulting from mass rainfall in the northern provinces, especially Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, and Tak provinces. The three provinces are currently experiencing flooding, affecting 22,841 businesses, 280,203 employees, and 17,941 households. On September 10, 2024, at 19.00 hours, local time in Lyon, France, or 00.00 hours in Thailand, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Decha Phruekpattanarak, the Department of Skill Development’s Director-General, Ms. Bubpha Rueangsud, and the Deputy Director-General of the Department of Skill Development, Mr. Pichet Thongphan, led a group of 22 Thai youths, officials and experts in each field, to attend the opening ceremony of the 47th WorldSkills Lyon 2024. The event was attended by over 1,400 participants and representatives from 69 member countries at the LDLC Arena, a multi-purpose indoor sports venue in Lyon, France.

On September 6, 2024, at 09.00 hours, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, gave a speech to Thailand’s youth representatives who will travel to participate in the 47th WorldSkills Competition in Lyon or WorldSkills Lyon 2024, in France. The Social Security Office’s Secretary-General, Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Decha Phruekpattanarak, the Department of Skill Development’s Director-General, Ms. Bubpha Rueangsud, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives, joined the event at the Chatumongkol Room, 6th floor, Ministry of Labor Building. The 47th WorldSkills Competition in Lyon, or WorldSkills Lyon 2024, in France, is scheduled to take place between September 11 to 14, 2024. There are 59 categories and three demonstration categories in total, with Thailand competing in 19 categories. There are 22 Thai youth representatives participating in the competition, with 3 teams and 16 individuals.
