The 30th National Skills Competition Has Begun! The Labour Minister Supports Upgrading Skills of Thai Youths Aiming for World Standards

On July 10, 2024, at 17.00 hours, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, chaired the opening of the 30th National Skills Competition, regional level, at the Prem Music Hall, Thaksin University. From the Prime Minister’s Secretariat’s Office, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour, Mr. Phuchong Worasri, the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson, Mr. Phumiphat Mueanchan, Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, the Department of Skill Development’s Director-General, Ms. Bubpha Rueangsud, Governor of Songkhla Province, Mr. Somnuek Promkhieo, the Ministry of Labour’s executive committee, executives from the Department of Skill Development, heads of government agencies in Songkhla Province, the southern provincial group and youths participated in the opening ceremony. The opening ceremonies were held simultaneously in all four regions, looking for over 1,600 youths with quality skills throughout the country to be selected to compete in the national competition. MOL Plants “Yellow Star” Trees in the 72 Million Tree Project to Revive the Forest in Honour of His Majesty the King

Permanent Secretary of Labour Joins 22nd Wage Committee Meeting No. 6

On June 28, 2024, at 09.30 hours, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, gave a report before the 22nd Wage Committee Meeting No. 6/2024 that took place at the Prasong Rananant Meeting Room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour. He said that today is the meeting to consider the appointment of the academic and screening subcommittee, and the subcommittee will consider the provincial minimum wage rate to fill vacant positions due to being appointed to a Member of the Senate (Senator). The committee consists of representatives of employers, employees, government, and relevant officials who attended the meeting. This meeting did not have any issues related to the minimum wage. After July 31, the numbers provided by the provinces will be compiled to evaluate if provinces want to increase the minimum wage and how they want to increase it. Labour Minister Organizes Job Expo 2024, Offering Over 700,000 Position Vacancies, Emphasizing Support For Over 1 Million Thai Workers This Year

The Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson, Mr. Phumiphat Mueanchan, reported that the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, has invited the public to join Thailand’s most fun income-generating job fair or Job Expo Thailand 2024 between June 28 to 30, 2024, from 11.00 to 21.00 hours at Halls 6 – 7, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. There will be 222 employers/establishments recruiting, offering over 700,000 job positions nationwide to support job applicants. The companies include Minor International, Huawei Technology (Thailand), Thai Airways International, Thai Namthip Corporation, Thai Beverages, and others. There will be 30 overseas employers/establishments offering over 100,000 overseas job positions in countries such as Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Poland, Malaysia, Portugal, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Israel. The most popular positions include construction, welders, the bicycle industry, foremen, and domestic workers, which have a relatively high wage rate. Permanent Secretary of Labour Reports Labour Situation for April 2024; Unemployed Registered Persons Decrease, Employment in the Service Improves

     On June 6, 2024, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, spoke about the overall labour situation based on the data of April 2024 by the Labour Economics Division under the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labour. Currently, 11,857,864 workers are insured under the social security system. Insured persons under Section 33 increased by 1.70 percent compared to the same month of 2023, when there were 11,659,514 people, but a decrease of 0.21 percent compared to March 2024, when there were 11,882,607 people.      Mr. Pairoj added that in Thailand’s unemployment situation, 228,840 unemployed people were registered in the social security system in April 2024. Compared to 2023, this was an increase of 0.93 percent, and compared to March 2024, an increase of 4.74 percent. The unemployment rate in the social security system in April 2024 was 1.89 percent.          On May 28, 2024, at 10.30 hours (local time in Israel), the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, joined the delegation of the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, to meet and visit Thai workers and inquire about their working lives and well-being on farms. They also visited the fruit market and flower shop in Hesilia.          The workers all said that they were well taken care of by their employers. The Labour Minister observed that the farm owners that the Ministry of Labour’s delegation visited showed love and respect to the Thai workers, taking good care of their safety.           On May 9, 2024, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, presided over the opening ceremony of “May 10, National Occupational Safety Day”. The event included a ceremony to offer good wishes and take an oath of allegiance to honor His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King’s 72nd Birthday. Labour Minister Leads Executive Team to Chaiyaphum to Join Mitr Phol Group in Promoting the Workforce and Enhancing Competitiveness by Adopting GLPs

           On May 3, 2024, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn led the Ministry of Labour’s executive team to visit Chaiyaphum province to strengthen the workforce’s potential in all dimensions, joining hands with Mitr Phol Group in raising the level of labour management with Good Labour Practices (GLP).           Mr. Phiphat said that the Government places great importance on raising the potential of the workforce and is committed to promoting basic principles and rights at work. MOL Provides Career Support to Technical Intern Graduates from IM Japan with Over 3 Million Baht

            On December 13, 2022, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned the Assistant to the Labour Minister, Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong, who provided financial support for occupation and certificates for technical intern training graduates in Japan (IM Japan). He also gave a lecture to 60 graduates and provided financial support for occupation amounting to 3,289,000 Baht.
