          Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, revealed that the kidney disease situation in Thailand in 2025 has become increasingly serious, with over 1.12 million people diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD). There have been 800,000 new cases recorded. At present, approximately 17.6 per cent of the Thai population suffers from chronic kidney disease, most of whom are patients with diabetes and hypertension. For insured persons under the Social Security system, the Minister has issued a policy directing the Social Security Office to ensure that insured persons suffering from kidney disease receive treatment in accordance with international standards and that their treatment rights are no less than other healthcare entitlements. The benefits must also cover four main forms of kidney replacement therapy, namely: Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD), Haemodialysis (HD), kidney transplantation, and palliative care.           The Labour Minister stated that kidney disease treatment benefits under Sections 33 and 39 cover insured persons, allowing them to access treatment at all stages free of charge.             On June 14, 2024, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, assigned the Secretariat to the Labour Minister, Mr. Aree Krainara, to pay a visit to give encouragement and advice to 305 Thai workers who received training before traveling to work in Taiwan and Japan.           On August 11, 2022, at 13.30 hours, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Assistant to the Labour Minister, Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong, presided over the closing ceremony of the 29th National Skills Competition, at the regional level, in the central region. The Department of Skill Development’s Director-General, Mr. Prateep Songlamyong, delivered a report. The occasion took place at the Novotel Marina Sriracha and Koh Sichang Hotel, Chonburi Province. The competition will be held between August 3 to 5, 2022, divided into four provinces, namely the central provinces hosted by the Chonburi Institute of Skill Development 3, the northeastern provinces hosted by the Ubon Ratchathani Institute of Skill Development 7, the northern provinces hosted by the Phitsanulok Institute of Skill Development 9, and the southern provinces hosted by the Surat Thani Institute of Skill Development 11. On February 25, 2022, at 11.00 hours, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, was interviewed by Khun Phatphicha Racharin, on the Top Talk Show, on Mono 29 via ZOOM. The interview will be broadcast today at 17.20 hours. The topic was how the Thai workers in Ukraine are now, what the morale is like and how many Thai workers are in Ukraine. The interview also covered how many people have requested to return to Thailand, how the help center is set up, and what agencies have provided initial support and coordination.           On December 7, 2021, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Ms. Bubpha Rueangsud presided over the opening ceremony of the training course for the development of the Ministry of Labour’s new civil servants, Class 29. The said training aims to instill the philosophy of being a good government official and developing civil service practice skills. The training also aims to promote moral and ethical practices and allow participants to develop their working network.           Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the head of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Samut Sakhon province to bring supplies and equipment to prevent Covid-19, sponsored by the Capital Market Academy (CMA), Class 29, to be donated to Samut Sakhon province. Deputy Governor of Samut Sakhon Mr. Thiraphat Khashmat and Chief of Samut Sakhon Provincial Office Mr. Wuttipong Suphakwanich received the supplies and equipment for use in the prevention of Covid-19 in Samut Sakhon.           On January 28, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the head of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Samut Sakhon province to bring supplies and equipment to prevent Covid-19.
