New Ministers Suchart and Narumol Worship MOL Sacred Items at Auspicious Time of 07.29 Hours

                Suchart Chomklin and Narumol Pinyosinwat, the two new ministers worshipped sacred items at the Ministry of Labour, at the auspicious time of 07.29 hours, on the occasion of becoming the 16th Minister of Labour and the First Deputy Minister of Labour, following the Royal Command which announced the appointment of Ministers on August 6. The Ministers took an oath before taking charge on August 12.

                On August 12, 2020, at 07.29 hours, Labour Minister Suchart Chomklin and Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat held an auspicious time to travel to the Ministry of Labour, after taking an oath before taking office on August 12. The two new ministers worshipped sacred items at the Ministry of Labour, including Phra Phut Sutthitham Bophit, Phra Phut Chinnarat, San Por Pu Chai Mongkhon, San Thao Mahaprom Thewarit and invited a Buddha statue to the office on the 6th floor of the Ministry of Labour, Building 15. They then signed the document to officially take on the position of Minister, on the first day. Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol congratulated the ministers and gave a flower vase, together with senior executives, civil servants, and officials under the Ministry of Labour, in a warm welcome. The ministers then took a picture together with the Ministry of Labour’s senior executives.

            From there, the Labour Minister paid respects to the image of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej at the exhibition hall on “The Father of Thai Craftsmanship” on the 2nd floor of the Smart Job Center building, recognizing the grace of the late King whose cabinet resolution on February 12, 2009, agreed to present the royal consecration “The Father of Thai Craftsmanship ” to His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej. It was also determined that March 2 of every year Is to be the National Labour Standard Day, and a day to commemorate the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej for his grace to the Thai people and his skills in craftsmanship, as well as giving importance to the development of skills of Thai artisans to be standardized.

                Mr. Suchart Chomklin was born on July 15, 1974, a native of Chonburi. He grew up in a family where his father worked as a labourer and his “mother” as a seller of a traditional Thai dessert in front of Nong Bon market. He always helped his mother, carrying sugar and rice at the Gulf of Thailand port, he worked as a contractor, and on vessels for exporting rice and sugar on Koh Si Chang. He was a home salesperson and worked at a bank where he used his knowledge from accounting to learn calculations about loans for housing estates. Now, he is a minister and is the 16th Labour Minister. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Management) from Krirk University. He held an important position in 2005 as a member of the Saensuk City Council, and in 2008, he became a member of the Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization Council. In 2011, he was a member of the House of Representatives in Chonburi and became vice-chairman of the NBTC Commission for the year 2011. He was on the committee of the general budget for 2012, 2013 and 2014. In addition, in 2014 he was elected as a member of the House of Representatives in Chonburi and in 2019, as a member of the Chonburi House of Representatives. He received an insignia of the Thawee Tiyaporn Chang Phuak in 2011 and the Thai Crown Prathamaporn in 2012.

                “It is the most divine grace that His Majesty the King has the royal command to appoint me to the position of Labour Minister. I and my family feel immense gratitude for His Majesty’s grace and will be honoured to serve him. Today, I am appointed to answer the missions of the establishment, in being the Ministry of Labour, the ministry for the workforce,” said Mr. Suchart.

                Meanwhile, Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Dr. Narumol Pinyosinwat was born on October 29, 1973. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Statistics (Applied Mathematics), from the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, Chulalongkorn University. She has a master’s degree with a Master of Science (Applied Mathematics), from Georgia State University and a Master of Business Administration (Applied Mathematics) from the University of Pennsylvania, USA. She got her Doctor of Philosophy (Finance) from Wharton College of the University of Pennsylvania, USA. She has worked as a lecturer at the National Institute of Development Administration or NIDA and a consultant in finance and financial risk management. She received an insignia of the most prestigious Thai crown, 1st level, the Prathamaporn Thai crown in 2013 and the most honorable decoration of the white elephant, 1st level, Prathamaporn white elephant in 2020.
