On December 22, 2024, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, paid a visit to the “Repair, Create, and Happiness” Center by the Department of Business Development,” which supported the people and workers affected by the recent flooding in Songkhla Province.             On November 18, 2024, at 13.30 hours local time in Sweden, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General and Acting Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, Mrs. Marasri Jairangsi, the Social Security Advisory Board (No. 14), executives and relevant officials of the Social Security Office under the Ministry of Labour, met with executives of the Swedish Pension Agency in Stockholm, Sweden.           Mr. Phiphat said that the reason that he, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, and the Social Security Advisory Board (No. 14) traveled to Sweden this time was to study and observe. On November 8, 2024, at 14.00 hours, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, said that the bodies of the four Thai workers, Mr. Akkapol Wannasai, Mr. Prahyat Pilasram, Mr. Thana Tijantuek, and Mr. Kawisak Papanang, who died in a rocket attack from Lebanon to the northern Israeli city of Metula on October 31, 2024, were sent by the Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv yesterday (November 7, 2024) at 21.55 hours local time on Israel Airlines flight LY 081, arriving at Suvarnabhumi Airport today (November 8, 2024) at 14.05 hours. Permanent Secretary Boonsong Visits Black Chicken Farming Enterprise in Surat Thani, a Model for Strengthening Community Economies

On October 20, 2024, at 1:30 PM, Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyuth, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, visited Tha Chana District, Surat Thani Province, to follow up on the activities of labour volunteers. Mr. Suksan Muangkaew, President of the Black Chicken Farming and Organic Livestock Community Enterprise, members of the volunteer labour group in Tha Chana District, community leaders, and local residents welcomed the visit at the enterprise’s facility in Khanthuli Subdistrict, Tha Chana District, Surat Thani. The Permanent Secretary of Labour Chairs Meeting on the SSO’s 3-Year Workforce Plan Project (2025 – 2027)

On October 9, 2024, at 09.30 hours, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, chaired the meeting on the 3-year workforce plan project (2025 – 2027) of the Social Security Office. The meeting was attended by the Ministry of Labour Inspector-General, Mrs. Marasri Jairangsi, as Acting Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, along with Social Security Office officials. The occasion took place at the Prasong Rananant Conference Room, 5th Floor, Ministry of Labour Building. The purpose of the meeting was to study and analyze the ecosystem, business models, and future challenges to be used as information for the Social Security Office’s workforce planning in the next three years. The meeting also proposed human resource management strategies that support readiness during the transition period by having an appropriate quantity and quality of personnel to support roles in the future and to create a 3-year workforce plan that is consistent with the mission and strategy of the Social Security Office, as well as to study, analyze, support, and jointly review the format and guidelines for organizational restructuring.

The Labour Minister Urgently Hires People to Help Flooded Areas; Instructs the Five Labour Leaders to Work With All Units to Alleviate People’s Suffering

            The Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson, Mr. Phumiphat Mueanchan, reported that the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, has instructed the heads of the Ministry of Labour’s departments or the five labour leaders, labor volunteers, and graduates in the flood-affected areas to inspect and integrate with all agencies, both civilian, military, and local, to help employees and the affected people, to provide them with necessities for living. He also urged them to help expedite the Ministry of Labour’s urgent employment projects, for which agencies have already received budgets for areas where the situation has begun to improve.
