On Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at 13.00 hours, the Phayao Provincial Labour Office, led by Phayao Provincial Labour Officer Ms. Kamolwan Boonyuen, along with the staff of the Phayao Provincial Labour Office, organized a project to honour H.M. King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua. Labour volunteers joined together in a volunteer project to develop the hometown of Phayao province for the 2022 fiscal year. They joined with activities to honour Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother’s 90th birthday on August 12, 2022, under the “vegetable gardening activities following the sufficiency economy philosophy project.” Heads of government agencies and officers of departments under the Ministry of Labour in Phayao Province, together with subdistrict level labour volunteers from Dok Khamtai District, participated in the activity, totaling 30 people. On Monday, June 13, 2022, at 09.30 hours, Mukdahan Provincial Labour Officer Mr. Bowon Darunsonthaya and Labour Academic Ms. Jariyanat Saensook visited to explain the benefits and meet the family of Mr. Nut Dechsongsak, a Thai worker who was working as a cook (Thai cuisine) and passed away in Japan. The deceased employee was a resident of Moo 6, Kok Tum Subdistrict, Dong Luang District, Mukdahan Province. The Mukdahan Provincial Labour Officer explained that Mr. Nut Dechsongsak was a member of the fund supporting job seekers working overseas. They advised the family to apply for subsidies from the fund at the Thai Overseas Worker Administration or the Mukdahan Provincial Labour Office.

The Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, spoke about the case of Praew, or Ms. Supharat Nganlasam, 30, a Thai woman who had an accident and fell from a four-story building in Bella City, Oman, on May 27. The Ministry of Labour has assigned Ms. Palida Ruamkham, Minister Counselor on Labour at the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi, to coordinate with the Royal Thai Embassy in Muscat to transport the body of the deceased back home, according to the wishes of relatives. On June 9, 2022, the Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong, Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, the Ministry of Labour’s executives, the ILO’s Assistant Vice President and Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific, met with the ILO’s Director-General Mr. Guy Ryder at the International Labour Office in Geneva, Switzerland. The meeting discussed labour matters and ways of cooperation between Thailand and the International Labour Organization (ILO). Thailand joined as a founding member of the organization in 1919 and has strengthened the relationship continuously over a long time. Mr. Suchart said that the Ministry of Labour thanked Mr. Guy Ryder for taking the time to meet today. Since Thailand was a founding member of the Organization in 1919, there has been collaboration with the ILO on promoting and driving various projects, especially on Decent Work.
