Labour Minister Shows Concern for Deceived Thai Workers and Instructs the Labour Ambassador to Coordinate with the Consulate in Dubai for Return to Thailand

          On April 28, 2022, the Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported that he had been coordinated by Mr. Supachai Phosu, the 2nd Vice-President of the Thai House of Representatives, to help Thai workers in Dubai who were tricked by agents inviting them to work in massage parlors. However, the workers were deceived into prostitution. Therefore, he asked for help to coordinate the return to Thailand. In this regard, Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha and Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan are concerned about Thai workers working abroad. This is because workers are a key force in earning a family’s income and bringing a lot of money into the country each year.          On April 25, 2022, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin joined the delegation of the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha to visit Songkhla and Phatthalung provinces to follow up on the Royal Initiative Project to improve the Phuminat Dam Initi Canal to have sufficient potential to solve the flooding problem in Hat Yai District. It also aims to be an area to store water for use during the dry season. The occasion occurred at Klong Phumnatdamri (Khlong Rama 1), Khuan Lang Subdistrict, Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province. Labour Minister Asks Business Operators to Understand the People and Hold Price Increases, Clarifying Measures to Reduce Contributions will Help Employers and Circulate 100Bn Baht in the Economy

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin revealed that the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha and Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, who supervises the Ministry of Labour, have continually monitored the impact of the Ukraine-Russia conflict, including the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic. The government has not stayed still and is concerned about the people and workforce. The situation is considered a double crisis, with both the pandemic and war occurring. Therefore, measures have been issued to help heal and reduce the impact. The Ministry of Labour has taken steps to reduce the expenses of the people and the cost of production for employers. It has taken actions to reduce the contributions for both employers and insured persons in all sections, including Sections 33,39, and 40, for three months, from May to July 2022. Labour Minister Assigns Advisor to Provide Training in Thai Massage to Promote Tourism in Phetchaburi with the 2022 Goal of 2,000 People

         The Labour Minister assigned his Advisor to visit Phetchaburi to commence the training on Thai massage to promote the Thailand Wellness Sandbox.          On April 20, 2022, at the meeting room on the first floor, Phetchaburi Skill Development Office, Cha-am District, Phetchaburi Province, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan to preside over the opening ceremony of the skills enhancement training in the body structure balance massage course, under the project to promote skill development and potential. The course was conducted for 20 workers who practice Thai massage in Phetchaburi Province. The initiative aims to support the recovery of tourism and service sectors in Phetchaburi Province and the country’s opening following the Ministry of Labour’s policy.
