Labour Minister Pleased as Over 110,000 Job Positions Secured for Thais Domestically and Overseas; Notes Income from Overseas Employment Exceeds THB 99Bn

          Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, disclosed figures on job placements between September 26, 2025, and February 1, 2026, stating that 66,741 people were placed in jobs domestically through the Thai Mee Ngan Tham (Thailand Has Jobs) system. Most placements were in the manufacturing sector, sales staff, general office personnel, warehouse staff, and drivers. In addition, the JOB EXPO THAILAND 2026, held from January 16–18, 2026, resulted in a further 3,795 people being successfully placed in employment.           The Labour Minister stated that the deployment of Thai workers overseas has also achieved highly satisfactory results. During the period from September 26, 2025, to February 1, 2026, the Ministry of Labour successfully facilitated the overseas employment of 40,086 Thai workers, representing 77.09% of the target of 52,000 placements. The figures, categorised by mode of deployment, include: 6,131 workers deployed by the Department of Employment; 11,859 workers deployed through recruitment agencies; 2,564 workers taken overseas by employers; 464 workers sent overseas for training by employers; and 19,068 workers who travelled independently or through re-entry arrangements.           Ms. Trinuch added that she has […]

Labour Minister Speaks with Five Thai Workers in Israel During MOL Executive Meeting; Reports Everyone in Good Health and Expected Hospital Discharge on February 11

On February 3, 2025, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, had a direct video call with five Thai workers who were released from hostage at Shamir Medical Center in Israel. The Thai workers were receiving treatment at the hospital after their release. The call took place during the Ministry of Labour’s Executive Meeting No. 2/2025. Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, the Permanent Secretary of Labour and the Ministry of Labour’s executives, attended the meeting at the Ministry of Labour. Mr. Phiphat said that he and the Ministry of Labour’s executives were relieved and welcomed the five Thai workers, who were Mr. Watchara Sri-uan from Udon Thani Province, Mr. Phongsak Tanna from Buriram Province, Mr. Sathien Suwannakam from Nong Bua Lamphu Province, Mr. Surasak Lamnao from Udon Thani Province, and Mr. Bannawat Sae Tao from Nan Province. Labour Minister Gives Statement at 112th Session of the ILC

  On June 12, 2024, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, delivered a statement at the 112th Session of the International Labour Conference. The Assistant to the Labour Minister, Mr. Siraphop Duangsodsri, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Decha Phruekpattanarak, the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General, Mr. Samat Pattamasukon, the Ministry of Labour’s executives, and Minister Counselor (on Labour), Ms. Chayanan Chatmat joined in listening at the United Nations, Geneva, Switzerland.   Mr. Phiphat said that cooperation through multilateral partnerships will play an essential role in promoting social justice based on the ILO Constitution and international human rights principles. Labour Minister Leads Tripartite Representatives to Attend the 112th ILC in Geneva, Switzerland

     On June 11, 2024, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, said that the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, himself, the Ministry of Labour’s executives, and representatives from the government, including employer and employee representatives, will travel to Geneva, in Switzerland, from June 11 – to 15, 2024, to participate in the 112th Session of the International Labour Conference. Thailand has been a founding member of the organization since 1919. In this meeting, the Ministry of Labour will be led by the Labour Minister. There is an agenda to meet with the International Labour Organization’s Director-General, Mr. Gilbert F. Houngbo, to discuss government matters regarding labour as well.      The main agenda for this year’s meeting includes the Ministry of Labour’s submission to ratify Convention No. 144 on Tripartite Consultation (International Labour Standards), 1976, for Thailand, which is considered to be an expression of Thailand’s intention to emphasize the transparency of the tripartite consultations that Thailand has always carried out, which drives the issue of social justice.           On June 9, 2022, the Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin delivered a statement at the 110th International Labour Conference in Geneva, Switzerland. Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong, Assistant Minister from the Prime Minister’s Office, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour Police Major General Nantachat Supamongkol, Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, the Ministry of Labour’s executives, government representatives, employer, and employee representatives also joined the event.           Mr. Suchart said that he congratulated the ILO for organizing this conference as a good sign showing revival. Labour Minister Visits Geneva in Switzerland with Tripartite Representatives to Join the 110th ILC

          On June 8, 2022, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong, Assistant Minister from the Prime Minister’s Office, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour Police Major General Nantachat Supamongkol, Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, the Ministry of Labour’s executives, government representatives, employer, and employee representatives traveled to Geneva in Switzerland between June 7 to 13, 2022, to join the 110th International Labour Conference (ILC) which took place in a hybrid form, following Thailand’s membership since its establishment in 1919. Official Account in the Public Sector with Almost 11 Million Followers

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin spoke about Line Company (Thailand) Co., Ltd., which considered the Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Office in receiving the LINE Thailand Awards 2021 in the category “Best Official Account in the Public Sector” from the work of Line Official Account “Social Security Office @ssothai.” He said that the award is a great pride for the workers, especially insured persons in the social security system who use it as an important part to track information and get recommended services. The Social Security Office has developed the system to be more efficient and meet the needs of insured persons. For this award, the Social Security Office is a government organization that has had great success in creating communication for people through the LINE Thailand platform in 2021. Export Sector Appreciates Government’s Factory Sandbox Project for Solving COVID-19 Issues and Promoting 17% Growth Valued 2.71Bn USD, the Highest in 11 Years

           On February 24, 2022, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin revealed that the COVID-19 situation had impacted the country’s tourism and service sectors, which are an important source of income. But at the same time, the export sector with over 2 million workers in 4 sectors has grown, namely in food, medical equipment, automotive and electronic parts, which is the result of implementing the Factory Sandbox project by the Ministry of Labour, following government policy. It has supported export businesses on continuous employment, and entrepreneurs can continue their business. This reflects the success of the Factory Sandbox project, which is a government policy under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and the Ministry of Labour under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan. Labour Minister Reports Reopening of Covid-19 Screening Facilities for Insured Persons and Informal Workers at the Thai-Japan Center in Din Daeng and Pathum Thani Vocational College from May 5-11

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported that the Ministry of Labour has worked with the Ministry of Interior, Bangkok Administration, and NHSO to launch a new round of proactive Covid-19 screening services for insured persons and informal workers to accelerate control of the outbreaks in Bangkok and surrounding areas. Facilities at the Thai-Japan Center in Din Daeng and Pathum Thani Vocational College will offer screening services from May 5 to 11. The services focus on facilitation, speed, and reducing congestion, building confidence among insured people suffering from Covid-19 to get treatment, and reducing the risk of fatalities. Labour Minister Shows Pride for “Section 33 We Love Each Other” Project with First Payment Supporting over 11.441Bn Baht to Circulate the Economy

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklim reported the progress of the “Section 33 We Love Each Other Project”. The first installment of 1,000 Baht was already transferred. A total of 5,720,967 people clicked to join the project or 77% of the eligible recipients. The program injects money into the system and benefits workers, valued at 5,720,967,000 Baht, resulting in short-term cash flow in the economy, worth more than 11,441 million Baht.           On March 22, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported the progress of the “Section 33 We Love Each Other Project” after the first installment of 1,000 Baht was paid today (March 22, 2021) to eligible insured persons under Section 33. The information as of March 22, 2020, at 8.00 hours, found that 5,720,967 people have already joined the project or 77% of those who received the rights.           Today (December 2, 2020) at 13.30 hours, the Labour Minister’s Secretariat Mr. Suthep Chitayavong, chaired the Steering Committee’s meeting for the New Employment Promotion Project for New Graduates by the Public and Private Sectors (Co-Payment) No. 11/2020. MOL Joins 11th ASEAN Plus Three Labour Ministers’ Meeting (ALMM+3)

           On October 28, 2020, at 13.30 hours, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol as head of the Thai delegation to attend the 11th ASEAN Plus Three Labour Ministers’ Meeting (ALMM + 3) through a video conference system at Sangsingkeaw meeting room. The Permanent Secretary of Labour made a statement on behalf of Thailand on measures to promote human resource development to support the changes from the 4th Industrial Revolution, the change in population structure to an aging society, and the spread of COVID-19. Thailand has implemented various important measures to support affected workers, such as employment measures by government agencies, employment programs for new graduates, promoting STEAM skills, and others, especially digital skills and increasing unemployment benefits, for example.
