On March 22, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported the progress of the “Section 33 We Love Each Other Project” after the first installment of 1,000 Baht was paid today (March 22, 2021) to eligible insured persons under Section 33. The information as of March 22, 2020, at 8.00 hours, found that 5,720,967 people have already joined the project or 77% of those who received the rights. The program injects money into the system and benefits workers, valued at 5,720,967,000 Baht. When the workers purchase goods and services through the ‘Pao Tang’ application, this results in short-term cash flow in the economy worth over 11,441 million Baht.
Mr. Suchart continued that today, the date of the first payment of 1,000 Baht through the ‘Pao Tang’ application, he instructed all Social Security Offices across the country to monitor the situation and report its performance. Overall, no issues have been found. The second installment is on March 29, 2021, the third on April 5, 2021, and the fourth on April 12, 2021, until 4,000 Baht is received. Eligible persons can use the money to purchase products and services from 06.00 – 23.00 hours, and the remaining amount can be accumulated and used within May 31, 2021, only. Applicants must check their eligibility status via the www.M33WeLoveEachOther.com website and press to confirm their identity through the ‘Pao Tang’ application until May 31, 2021. If the system verifies that the applicant is ineligible, they must hurry to review their rights from March 15 to 28, 2021. The first group is those who have not registered or their name is wrong. This group must review their rights via the www.M33WeLoveEachOther.com website. The second group is people who do not have smartphones and those who have registered, but the system informs that they are not insured under Section 33. This group must review their rights at the Social Security Office in Bangkok or branches nationwide from 8.30 hours to 18.30 hours every day, including public holidays. The people must use their Thai ID card with a smart card for the process.
For the “Section 33 We Love Each Other” project, the government under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and the Ministry of Labour under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan gives importance to the support and remedies to alleviate the cost of living of insured persons under Section 33. The government provided remedies of 4,000 Baht per person, whereby applicants registered online via the www.M33WeLoveEachOther.com website. It is beneficial to many insured persons who have never received help and remedies before. Although 4,000 Baht doesn’t seem like a lot, it can help alleviate workers’ suffering as they can use the money they receive, at 1,000 Baht per week until the full 4,000 Baht, to spend on the necessities of life. This money can be spent through the ‘Pao Tang’ application to buy products and services from merchants, including small merchants such as the ‘Thong Fah’ shop participating in the “Half Each” and “We Win” projects. It also helps small vendors such as hawker stalls to promote turnover in the economy.
In this regard, the “Section 33 We Love Each Other Project” will end on May 31, 2021. Therefore, the Labour Minister urged insured persons who have not registered or reviewed their rights to hurry to proceed within the project’s deadline.
