The President of the Thai Airways International Labour Union and committee led a team to meet with Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin, to give a basket and to thank the government and the Ministry of Labour for helping to protect the rights under the labour law due to the change of employment conditions by Thai Airways. The issues have been resolved under the labour protection law framework to satisfy Thai Airways employees and unions.
On March 17, 2021, at the Chatumongkol Room, 6th floor, Ministry of Labour, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin welcomed President of the Thai Airways International Labour Union, Mr. Siripong Sukrakarnchanachoke, and a committee of 9 people. The visiting delegation met the Labour Minister to give a basket of flowers to thank the government and the Ministry of Labour for protecting the rights under the labour law due to the change of employment conditions by Thai Airways International. Advisor to the Labour Minister, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives joined the occasion. Several issues and conflicts about changing the new employment conditions following Thai Airways International’s relaunch project, conflicts in the amendment of the provident fund regulations, and other problems according to the company’s business rehabilitation plan were cared for and resolved quickly through negotiations. Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Advisory Board Member to the Labour Minister Mrs. Thienrat Navamawat, the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare’s Director-General Mr. Apinya Sucharitanan, the Deputy Director-General of the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare Mr. Wannarat Srisuksai, Director of Labour Relations Ms. Radklao Chaowalit, senior executives from the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, as well as relevant officials, were part of the process.
Mr. Siripong said that today, the Thai Airways International Labour Union, members of the union, and Thai Airways International PCL’s employees, are grateful for the help of the government led by Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha and the Ministry of Labour. Therefore, the committee paid a visit to express their gratitude for the sincerity and care in coordinating with all stakeholders, to discuss and negotiate a settlement. At this time, the conflicts have been resolved within the framework of the labour protection laws, to the satisfaction of Thai Airways International Public Company Limited and the labour union.
