           Mr. Anurak Tossarat, Director-General, Department of Employment revealed that H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor, gave priority to finding jobs for the elderly. The Department of Employment has assigned the Department of Employment to explore job vacancies from employers / enterprises to provide jobs for the elderly. In the fiscal year 2018, the Department of Employment has organized a program to promote the employment of the elderly in suitable career with age and experience, consisting of 2 activities: 1. 1 district, 1 wisdom under operation. “The elderly are valuable. Create Wisdom For Thai sustainable ” by employing the elderly 60 years old who have knowledge and local wisdom in various fields to transfer knowledge to people in the community to bring knowledge to the next career. Targeted 150 elderly people are employed in 11 pilot provinces, ie Nonthaburi, Samutprakarn, Suphan Buri, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Ubon Ratchathani, Khon Kaen, Chiang Rai, Nakhon Sawan, Nakhon Si Thammarat and Songkhla. 2. Employment promotion activities for the elderly in the service and tourism industries. For those who want to work full time and part time 1,200 people. Over the past 6 months (October 2017 – March 2018), the Department of Employment has provided job vacancies for 1,435 elderly people. There are 2,037 elderly people, 869 employed: 225 production workers, 131 housekeepers, 113 security staff, 56 other teaching professionals, and 26 general staff. In the public sector, 60-75 year olds are employed in 20 units of the Department of Employment, as a model for the employment of 20 elderly, working time 144 days, 3 hours per day, 250 baht per hour, income 108,000 baht per person, and also promote the employment of retirees.
