Department of Labor Protection and Welfare hired foreign interpreter to help with labor inspection at PIPO center

          Mr. Ananchai Uthaiwattanachep, The Director General of the Department of Labor Protection and Welfare revealed the visit of the Port in Port Out Control Center (PIPO) in Samut Sakhon of H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor on December 3rd. The PIPO Language Coordinator or interpreter is not available. Some PIPO centers still lack interpreting and some do not meet the labor requirements. The Department of Labor Protection and Welfare has hired interpreters for operations in the PIPO center located in the seaside area of 21 provinces, 30 centers from 22 provinces, 32 centers, but also lack centers in Pattani, Pranburi, Chachoengsao, Pakpanang and Prasae and order to accelerate the employment as soon as possible to ensure that employees are protected thoroughly.

          Mr. Anantachai further added that the language coordinator or interpreter will complement the work of the PIPO Labor Inspector, serving as the intermediary between the migrant worker and the right communication officer. Legal obligations and guidelines for the conduct of staff to foreign workers are clearly visible to help reduce language gaps that may be a barrier to performance.
