Department of Labor Protection and Welfare instructs employers and employees to take care of safety during heavy rain of 1-5 May

          Mr. Ananchai Uthaiwattanachep, Director-General of the Department of Labor Protection and Welfare said that according to the Department of Meteorology issued a warning to the public of the dangers of heavy rain and rain accumulated in the period from May 1 – 5. The Department of Labor Protection and Welfare asked employers and employees to work together to ensure safety of workplace by jointly inspecting equipment, especially electrical equipment, to prevent potential hazards such as short circuit, or leakage and sucking, etc. For establishments located in potentially affected areas, please be cautious specially. There may be an accident, such as sudden floods or mudslides, causing buildings or structures to collapse and assigned Safety Officer or related parties to check the structure of the building in a safe condition.
          Director General of the Department of Labor Protection and Welfare added that: In addition, the employer has provided safe driving measures to both educate and supervise the employees engaged in driving the vehicle. Include employees who use vehicles, take care and check the condition of the vehicle before departure to prevent accidents.
