Department of Labour Protection and Welfare Prepare to send staff to understand “Wage adjustment”

          Mr. Ananchai Uthaiwattanachep, Director-General of the Department of Labor Protection and Welfare said that according to the Wage Council’s resolution to adjust the minimum wage nationwide, effective from April 1, 2018, the Department of Labor Protection and Welfare prepares to order the Labor Inspectorate, the Office of Labor Protection and Welfare across the country, to accelerate the coverage area and understand entrepreneurs, employers, and employees in order to better understand wages and explain the reason for the new minimum wage adjustment to prevent the impact on both old and new employees.
          The Director General of the Department of Labor Protection and Welfare said the range before the new minimum wage will be effective. The focus will be on understanding and clarifying. Including listening to problems to improve employer opportunities. The emphasis is on management to help employers and employees. After the wage has been applied, it will supervise the establishment to comply with the law.
