The Deputy Labour Minister visited Nan to drive community enterprises into new business practices, developing digital transformation skills.
On March 12, 2021, Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat and Advisor to the Deputy Labour Minister M.L. Puntrik Smiti visited Nan to follow up on the movement of Thailand Together in Nan Province. They also observed the training program for the enterprise development to professionalism, and the labour skill standard assessments for building electricians, awarding certificates to the trainees in wheelchair repair and encouraging people with disabilities and their caregivers to keep walking steadily.
Prof. Narumon said that the visit’s objective was to follow up on the movement of Thailand Together in Nan Province for the third time. Nan Province received a budget for provincial development on many occasions. This time, a project was proposed to request additional support. As the care of this province is under her supervision, she provided advice on proposing other projects to benefit the people in the province, particularly in skills development for the workforce in Nan. The Department of Skill Development, together with network partners, was assigned to organize training for digital knowledge. The Nan Skill Development Office, together with the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (or ETDA), organized training in e-commerce for community entrepreneurs to increase the enterprise group’s potential following the enterprise development project. The training aims to promote knowledge to create new ideas and boost creativity in doing business. The objective is to take advantage of technology, develop and adapt business models to accommodate future changes, and strengthen and stabilize the basic economy at the country’s community level. The training duration is 30 hours. The participants included entrepreneurs, workers, community enterprises, OTOP members, and various occupational groups. The Deputy Labour Minister also observed the national skill standards assessments for building electricians, whereby 20 people were assessed. She also gave words of encouragement to youths listening to the news from the Kluaynamthai Foundation, recruiting interested persons to attend the field of care for the elderly at the Nan Skill Development Office.
From there, the Deputy Labour Minister traveled to Sri Ku Siao Temple, one of Nan’s famous temples that are popular with tourists, where Phra Ajahn Chao Abbot intends to help home workers earn an income. The Gu Xiao Temple has a few weaves and therefore included a professional group in cloth weaving called the “Gu Xiao Temple weaving group” for sale to tourists.
In the afternoon, the Deputy Labour Minister attended the working group meeting to drive Thailand Together in Nan Province, together with the heads of relevant government agencies. The meeting took place at the Nan City Hall meeting room to monitor the performance and explore obstacles in the provincial development. They then traveled to observe the training of people with disabilities and awarded certificates to those who have passed the training in wheelchair repair for 20 people. The occasion took place at the Disabled Persons Association in Muang, Nan. She gave words of encouragement to develop skills for occupation and earning a sustainable income, to assist people with disabilities and their caregivers across the country, ensuring support, a career, and income, encouraging them to keep walking steadily.
