Deputy Labour Minister Encourages Organizations to Join Industrial Hygiene Improvement Project for Free

Content Description

The Labour Minister encouraged companies to join the project to enhance industrial hygiene potential in the workplace. Participation is free of cost.

On December 16, 2020, Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat reported that from the Covid-19 outbreak in early 2020, Thailand’s economy has slowed in line with the world economy. This is especially the case in the industrial and service sectors. Although Thailand is likely to control the situation of the Covid-19 outbreak, the economic recovery of affected organizations may take time and more resources than normal, which may affect businesses and the management of occupational safety, health, and working environment to be less effective. As a result, employees in the workplace may not take care of safety as they should, causing health, illness, and occupational diseases.

The Deputy Labour Minister added that the organization realizes the importance and is ready to support safety to be efficient and sustainable. Therefore, it has launched the project to enhance hygiene in the workplace for 2021 to alleviate obstacles experienced among organizations and to promote them to prevent risks to employees’ health by enhancing the potential of hygiene for workplaces in the long term.

For the qualifications of establishments participating in the project, they must be a business place in the central region affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The establishments must have technical safety personnel at the advanced technical or professional level and have a fixed place of business. The benefits that participating organizations will receive include academic advice and equipment support (heat, light, noise, dust, and heavy metal fumes) in industrial hygiene operations.

Organizations interested can download an application form to join the project at www.tosh.or.th and submit the application via email to noppakorn.s@tosh.or.th or duangrat.s@tosh.or.th, or ask for more information at 0 2448 9111 from today until January 18, 2021. Participation in the project is free of charge throughout the project.
