Deputy Labour Minister Promotes Free Online Training Courses to Stay Away from Covid-19

          The Deputy Labour Minister promotes over 20 online career training courses for free! Supporting the new normal way, away from Covid-19.

          On January 4, 2020, Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat reported that the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha, is concerned about the second wave of the Covid-19 outbreak, which is viciously affecting the people’s health, economy, and society. The situation poses high uncertainty. As a result, many Thai workers are affected by Covid-19. The government continues to pay close attention to measures to solve problems affecting all aspects of the workforce.

          Prof. Narumon added that the Ministry of Labour’s Department of Skill Development (DSD) had encouraged people to live in the new normal. The DSD has organized over 20 online skill training courses. This includes using Microsoft Excel Advanced program, producing advertising media and short movies with smartphones, and techniques for creating a shop and selling products online. Courses also include careers in e-commerce, Photoshop design and decoration, mobile application building using android, drawing 3D construction with the Sketch-up program, creating a database with Google Forms, applications of the Solid Work program, English for communication, basic Burmese for work, Kaizen for work improvement, using Microsoft Powerpoint 2010, techniques for creating tourism multimedia, Google Application for business, branding, a digital business using Microsoft Word 2016 and creating basic infographics. Once registered, a staff member will contact you back to inform you of the schedule and advise how to attend the online training.

          “Although the Covid-19 situation in the second wave will continue to spread and increase, I ask that the people, especially workers in the formal and informal sectors, to not neglect their development. Workers must continue to have professional skills to cope with such situations. After all, the workforce is one of the key mechanisms for driving the overall national economy,” the Deputy Labour Minister concluded.
