Deputy Labour Minister Reports “Labour SIMs” Are Ready

Content Description

On April 21, 2021, Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat reported that “Labour SIM,” following the collaborative project between the Ministry of Labour’s Department of Skill Development and National Telecom Public Company Limited, is ready for service. SIM cards can be registered at the lowest rates, available from now until June 15, 2021.

The Deputy Labour Minister said that many training courses conducted by the Department of Skill Development had been adjusted to online training, supporting the New Normal and complying with government measures to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus. The number of participants in each course is capped to the government’s limit. The courses have been adapted to online training for some time. Therefore, to facilitate the participants who want to use the high-speed internet to increase training efficiency, the DSD joined with National Telecom Public Company Limited to organize an “Online Skill Development SIM Card Program.” Those eligible to receive a SIM card for use must participate in the training or be selected persons to receive training.

The company supports prepaid SIM cards, using the internet from the NT Mobile network with a maximum speed of 4 Mbps. There is no reduction in the speed rate. Using the service for the first time costs 90 Baht per SIM card, up to 30 days of use. The SIM card can then be topped up at 70 Baht per time, per 30 days of use. Interested parties must provide supporting documents such as a copy of their ID card, a photograph, and evidence of training applications, as an attachment for the SIM card registration online. The SIM card is available from now until June 15, 2021, at https: //shop.totmobile.net/shop/products/StartupSimforlabor.aspx
“The established cooperation will allow training to be more convenient, promoting people to develop their skills. It also provides opportunities for adaptation to technology and communication in the digital age, responding to the needs of receiving government services effectively as well,” concluded the Deputy Labour Minister.
