The Deputy Labour Minister visited Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, focusing on improving the workforces’ skill level under the policy to “create, elevate and give; uniting Thailand to build a nation,” driving the Thai economy sustainably.
On December 24, 2020, Deputy Labour Minister Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat visited Phra Nakhon Sri Ayutthaya to follow up on the missions of the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Skill Development Institute 15. She presented the labour skill standard assessment center sign and joined a meeting to follow up on driving labour missions in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya at the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Skill Development Institute 15. Prof. Narumol said that the Department of Skill Development (DSD) is committed to “creating” new skilled workers with quality who can work in various jobs following the changing situation. In addition, it also focuses on “elevating” the skill standards to have higher capabilities, to be able to receive higher wages following their skill standards, including “giving” all workers, especially vulnerable groups, access to government services, ensuring the operations are beneficial to the people, which are a major force in driving the country’s economy sustainably.
The Deputy Labour Minister continued that today, she visited Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Skill Development Institute 15 to observe training sessions in photovoltaic installation and maintenance technicians and Thai culinary, including the national skill standard assessment for household and small commercial air conditioning technicians and hand-held metal arc welders, both at the level 1 competency. The Deputy Labour Minister also presented the labour skill standard assessment center sign to the I CHEF labour skill standard assessment center, a level 1 testing center for Thai food entrepreneurs. She presented certificates of knowledge and competence to indoor building electricians and certificates of labour skill standards for professionals to Mitsui Hitech (Thailand) Company Limited. The company has prepared its standards in metal stamping mold installers at the level 1 competency for testing the knowledge and competence of employees in the company. The assessments can be used to consider wage adjustment or promotion, or as information for skills development of each employee, and be used as criteria for hiring new employees.
“Thank you to all agencies, both the public and private sectors, who have taken part in the “create, elevate and give; uniting Thailand to build a nation” policy, including driving the Ministry of Labour’s mission to change from a Ministry of Social Affairs to a Ministry of Economy. I would like to thank the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Skill Development Institute 15 for selecting and developing appropriate courses to meet the space and industries’ needs, answering to situational changes and continuing to produce a quality workforce,” concluded the Deputy Labour Minister.
From there, the Deputy Labour Minister observed the “Job Safety Analysis Technique (JSA)” seminar by the Thailand Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (TOSH), at the Classic Kameo Hotel, Ayutthaya, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. The seminar aims to build knowledge of workplace safety and how to prevent work hazards, putting knowledge into practice. Seminar participants included workplace safety officers at all levels, employers, employees, and the general public.
Prof. Narumon met and spoke with the seminar participants and said in one episode, “Safety is important. It is related to life and property, both us and others, including the public. Everyone should prevent any danger that may occur in our daily lives and during working hours. We must have appropriate preventive measures or set standards for work. Most importantly, workers must have discipline and strictly abide by rules and regulations. I hope that today’s seminar will help you identify the dangers of work, leading to appropriate measures to make the workplace safer and operations more efficient. This is part of driving the “Safety Thailand” following the government policy under the leadership of Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha.”
