Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Chairs Ceremony to Present the Flag, Emblem, and Certificate to Honour Organizations and Industrial Zones Applying GLPs

          The Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour chaired the ceremony to present the flag, emblem, and certificate of honour to establishments and industrial zones that apply Good Labour Practices (GLP) to manage labour, solve problems and develop the organization to create a good image and strengthen Thailand’s commercial capability.
          On March 26, 2021, at 10.00 hours, the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General Mr. Phairoj Chotikasathian, presided over the ceremony to present the flag, emblem, and certificate of honour to establishments and industrial zones that apply Good Labour Practices (GLP) in labour management, following international labour standards. As a result, workers have better stability and quality of life at work. It builds investor confidence and increases trade competitiveness. This will help products manufactured in Thailand to be recognized in terms of social responsibility. The Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General Mr. Prateep Songlamyong also joined the event at the Terminal Hall, 4th Floor, Terminal 21 Shopping Center, Nakhon Ratchasima. The Deputy Permanent Secretary said that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and the Ministry of Labour, under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, gives priority to driving the country to improve the quality of work-life for the better, to drive Thailand to “stability, prosperity, and sustainability.”
          “The Ministry of Labour has established a policy in response to the 20-year national strategy on economic development and Thailand’s competitiveness. It sets a standard for removing items from lists listed as using child labour or forced labour, promoting Good Labour Practices (GLP) as a problem-solving tool, and developing the organization to create a good image. This leads to enhancing the commercial capability of Thailand. Establishing Good Labour Practices (GLP) for business management is an expression of ethical business operation. There is no forced and discriminatory labour. It can increase commercial opportunities and promote a good reputation for organizations in an age when the social responsibility trend is in demand by consumers. Currently, 21,820 establishments adopt Good Labour Practices (GLP) in labour management. Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin hopes that the established policies and measures will lead to expanding trade and investment opportunities on the world arena, promoting solidarity in the labor labour and cooperation to develop the country to continue to prosper,” concluded the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour.
