H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo moving ahead Prevention of forced labor / human trafficking

          Today (Feb 23, 61) Mr. Ananchai Uthaiwattanachep, Director General of the Department of Labor Protection and Welfare reported the results of the labor inspection and screening of employees who lodged their petition / complaint weekly from February 19 to 22, 2018. There were 119 complaints from 230 employees, 223 of the 118 trafficked / forced labor traffickers found themselves in forced labor, and has coordinated with the inquiry officer seven sufferers. They were Myanmar and Laos workers . They worked at Ivor Rungnok Co., Ltd., 173/1 Soi Ekachai 76, 2-1, Bangbon, Bangbon, Bangkok, bird’s nest production. The employees have complained that the company is: 1) keep a passport of the employee and deduct the wages as expenses for the processing of documents to hire foreign workers 2) not pay traditional holiday pay 3) Not pay for the sick day. The actions of the employer in the use of forced / trafficking.

          H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo emphasized that the labor inspectors of the Department of Labor Protection and Welfare Filing complaints against the inquiry officer in case the employer treats both Thai and foreign workers enforced labor and not follow The Labor Protection Act 1998, which imposes a jail term of not more than 6 months, not exceeding one hundred thousand or both.
