Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Advisor to the Labour Minister Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan to Khon Kaen, to commence a big labour meeting event and meet with Co-Payment “hiring new graduates” with 3,295 positions available.
On November 27, 2020, the Labour Minister assigned Advisor to the Labour Minister Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan to preside over the opening ceremony of the big labour meeting event bi and meet with Co-Payment “hiring new graduates.” Advisory Board Member to the Labour Minister Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat also joined the event. The occasion aims to promote and facilitate employers/establishments creating a new graduate employment contract according to the Co-Payment program and promote employment to the unemployed and those affected by workforce reductions, and the general public looking for work. The event took place at the Khon Kaen Hall, 5th Floor, Central Plaza Khon Kaen. In the event, there were employers/companies interested in participating in the project and recruiting, totaling 99 companies with 439 positions and 3,295 vacancies. Registration activities were organized for those interested in the Co-Payment project, including recruitment activities and job interviews with employers/companies at the event, including working in the agricultural sector in Israel. There were self-employment demonstration activities, product showcases, home workers’ activities, and products sold by community enterprises. The event also hosted a career and further education counseling, advice on labour issues (Labor Clinic), and an exhibition of agencies under the Ministry of Labour. There are currently 87 employers/companies in Khon Kaen that have applied to the program through the www.jangdekjobmai.com platform, with 1,438 new graduates looking for work in the Khon Kaen area which has applied to program.
Advisor to the Labour Minister Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan revealed that the Co-Payment project is one that drives the government’s policy, following the civil state approach to give happiness to the people by creating jobs for new graduates, the unemployed, people who want to change jobs, the elderly, people with disabilities, as well as students, including students who want to work during their free time throughout their studies. The program aims to tackle unemployment and reduce poverty, which is a major problem for the country, especially in the current economic conditions from the Covid-19 pandemic, which impacts people’s occupation and employment. This is especially for new graduates preparing to enter the workforce.
“The government is focused on solving the country’s poverty issue through the 20-year National Strategy (2018-2037). It focuses on the next 20 years for Thailand as “A country with stability, prosperity, and sustainability” by creating jobs, careers and generating income as a developed country, with the development of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) and the 12th National Economic and Social Development Plan. The overall goal of development is to reduce inequality and poverty, strengthen the economy, and increase competitiveness in the ASEAN region. Therefore, the “Big Labour Meeting” and “Co-Payment Meeting” was held. It is believed that it can alleviate the unemployment problem of the people and stimulate the country’s economy for the better to a certain extent,” said the Labour Minister’s Advisor.
Mrs. Thiwalrat continued and thanked the Governor of Khon Kaen, Chairman of the Chamber, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries, agencies under the Ministry of Labour, and network agencies, both in public and private sectors have cooperated together to organize this event. The collaboration helps drive the event to accomplish its objectives for the benefit of new graduates, the unemployed, the elderly, the disabled, and students interested in working during their free time during throughout their studies, in having work, knowledge, and abilities, and in jointly developing Khon Kaen province to be stable, prosperous and sustainable in the economy and society.
