Labour Minister Assigns Advisor to Meet with Five Labour Leaders in Phetchaburi to Advise Employers on Covid-19 Prevention Measures

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned his Advisor to meet with heads of government agencies in Phetchaburi to plan to inspect and advise companies hiring foreign workers to implement Covid-19 preventative and controls measures.

          On December 24, 2020, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Advisor to the Labour Minister Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan to chair the meeting of the heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Phetchaburi, to plan to inspect and advise companies in the area with foreign workers on Covid-19 preventative and control measures. The occasion took place at the meeting room of the Phetchaburi Provincial Labour Office.

          The Labour Minister’s Advisor said that with the Covid-19 pandemic in Samut Sakhon and many areas at the moment, the government under the leadership of Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and the Ministry of Labour under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, is concerned about all workers and all groups affected by the situation, including all sectors involved.

          Mrs. Thiwalrat added that today, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned her to visit Phetchaburi to meet with the heads of government agencies to plan inspections and advise companies that employ foreign workers to have prevention and control under the Covid-19 measures. The efforts will also request companies to cooperate with the Provincial Communicable Disease Committee and all relevant sectors to control and prevent the spread of Covid-19 among Thai and foreign workers in the workplace and announce the ban on foreign workers’ movement in all cases. It also aims to promote measures to monitor and examine disease screening, such as raising awareness about wearing masks and washing hands with alcohol gel.
