Labour Minister Assigns Assistant Minister to Sisaket to Visit Trainees in Professional Training Courses

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Assistant Minister from the Prime Minister’s Office performing duties at the Ministry of Labour to Sisaket, to meet the heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour and visit trainees in the training course preparing participants for the workforce.
          On December 7, 2020, at 10.00 hours, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Assistant Minister from the Prime Minister’s Office performing duties at the Ministry of Labour Mr. Pornsak Charoenprasert to Sisaket, to chair the meeting of the heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour, to follow up on its missions at the Sisaket Office of Skill Development. He also observed projects to enhance skills and competencies, workforce preparatory training courses in Thai culinary. The training course is 280 hours (2 months) and includes a 1-month internship. The curriculum duration is from May 20, 2020, to December 25, 2020, comprising ten trainees. It is training for new workers before entering the workforce, giving them the capacity to perform their work according to the standards. After completing the training, trainees partake in an internship in the food business for one month to gain practical experience, which is a requirement to complete the training. The Assistant Minister also visited the Thai food operator branch’s trainees, making fried fish and celery and pork massaman curry.
          Sisaket has approved the project under the government action plan for 2021 to promote a livable society and improve the quality of life for all ages. It aims to develop the potential of informal workers to promote tourism in Sisaket, targeting 100 people, amounting to 530,000 Baht (five hundred and thirty thousand Baht), promoting safety standards to meet tourist attractions’ needs. It also aims to prepare the informal workforce to have the highest potential and efficiency in serving Thai and foreign customers. The course consists of a 150-hour Thai massage course for three batches consisting of 60 people each and a 30-hour Thai cooking course for two batches consisting of 40 people.
          The Sisaket Office of Skill Development has conducted professional training in Thai massage for wellness, which spans 150 Hours (25 Days). Class 1/2021 took place from November 27 to December 25, 2020. Most of the 20 trainees were unemployed informal workers looking to have a career. The course is legally certified by the Ministry of Public Health. When trained, the trainees must register at the Provincial Public Health Offices nationwide to be a provider of Thai massage for health to pursue a career.
