The Labour Minister assigned his Assistant to commence the “Friendly Labour Relations” meeting with labour organizations in Chonburi, to strengthen good labour relations in a crisis. The meeting also aimed to solve problems in sustainable ways, following the “MOL Agenda to Unite Thailand and Build the Nation Year 2021” policy.
On February 10, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong to chair the “Friendly Labour Relations” meeting no. 1/2021, to strengthen relations between the labour networks and the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare. The meeting discussed and exchanged information about the workforce and listened to the issues faced by labour organizations in Chonburi. The initiative follows the “MOL Agenda to Unite Thailand and Build the Nation Year 2021” policy, which has established measures to promote proactive labour relations in a crisis to solve problems sustainably. The effort aims to protect and take care of the rights and equality in employment, workers’ quality of life and maintain employment conditions. The meeting took place at the Marina meeting room, Novotel Marina Sriracha and Koh Si Chang, Chonburi.
The Assistant to the Labour Minister said that Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha and the Ministry of Labour under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan had instructed the support and care for workers and employers affected by Covid-19. Everything must be done within the framework of the law. He ordered the Ministry of Labour to promote quality within the workforce. The Ministry of Labour has provided remedies for employees affected by the new wave of Covid-19 outbreaks, under the “Section 33 We Love Each Other” project, to alleviate the workers’ cost of living. The project aims to support insured persons under Section 33 affected by Covid-19.
