Labour Minister Assigns Pol. Maj. Gen. Nantachat to Monitor and Deliver Survival Bags in Uthai Thani

         On October 12, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Assistant Minister from the Prime Minister’s Office performing duties for the Ministry of Labour Police Major General Nantachat Supamongkol to visit the area to monitor the water situation and deliver 200 survival bags to workers and villagers affected by the floods. Governor of Uthai Thani Province Mr. Kajonkiat Rakpanichmanee was the recipient. Agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Uthai Thani Province also participated in the “Ministry of Labour meets the people” activities to alleviate suffering, maintain happiness, and provide labour services to the people. The effort includes services to “reduce expenses” (free maintenance of electrical appliances and motorcycles and free oil change). It also promotes protection for insured persons, providing consultations on work and employment and services to register for unemployment. The occasion took place under the Chaloem Phrakiat Bridge (Uthai-Manorom), Tha Sung Subdistrict, Mueang Uthai Thani District, Uthai Thani Province.
         Police Major General Nantachat said that the tropical storm “Dian Mu” has caused heavy to very heavy rain. In some places, rain has accumulated for several days causing water to overflow and flood agricultural areas and people’s homes, causing widespread impact. The Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and the Ministry of Labour, under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, is concerned about the people suffering from the impacts. Today, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned him to visit the area to give encouragement and relief bags to alleviate people’s suffering. And after the water recedes, the Provincial Employment Office will provide employment and occupational promotion services. The Provincial Labour Office will organize an urgent employment and skill development project, support compensation, and provide professional training materials for continuous income. The Provincial Labour Protection and Welfare Office will provide advice on rights under the labour protection laws. Additionally, the Provincial Social Security Office will take care of benefits for the victims according to their social security rights. It will organize a team of doctors and nurses from hospitals in the network to provide initial care services in the affected areas.
         “Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin expressed his concern and encouragement for workers and villagers who have suffered from this flood. He has instructed the Ministry of Labour’s agencies in the area to work with relevant agencies, ready to mobilize all forces to fully ensure safety for workers and the people and accelerate recovery after the water recedes according to the mission of each unit. I wish you all good health, physically and mentally, to get through the flood crisis. Please don’t let your guards fall, and we will go through this crisis together,” concluded Police Major General Nantachat
For the flooding in Uthai Thani province, eight districts, 69 sub-districts, 551 villages, 15 communities have been affected for 9,536 households. A total of 169,974.75 rai of agricultural areas was affected, which impacted 13,928 farmers. Seven districts are in normal condition at present.
