Labour Minister Discusses Driving Thailand Together with Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, and Samut Prakan Governors

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin welcomed the Provincial Governors of Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, and Samut Prakan to discuss and accelerate the policy’s advancement to drive Thailand together, integrating all sectors to promote employment and create security for all workers, consistent with the local context.

          On April 9, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin welcomed Nonthaburi Provincial Governor Mr. Suchin Chaichumsak, Pathum Thani Provincial Governor Mr. Chaiwat Chuenkosum, and Samut Prakan Provincial Governor Mr. Chaipot Jaroonpong, at the Chatumongkol meeting room, 6th floor, Ministry of Labour. The meeting discussed the committees’ work to drive Thailand together and guidelines for the committee’s performance to drive Thailand forward. Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong, Advisor to the Labour Minister Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also joined the occasion. The Labour Minister said that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister and Defense Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha had given importance to driving solutions to problems at the local level. It starts with urgent problems to achieve concrete and timely results. In the Ministry of Labour’s part, the Prime Minister has assigned the Labour Minister to be responsible for the concept of driving Thailand together in Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, and Samut Prakan provinces.

          Mr. Suchart said that today, he welcomed the governors of the three provinces, comprising Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, and Samut Prakan, to discuss the committee’s work to drive Thailand together, the guidelines, and to acknowledge progress, problems, obstacles, and suggestions by the provinces. The information will be used to coordinate with relevant agencies to drive Thailand together according to the Ministry of Labour’s missions.

          The Labour Minister emphasized that all three provinces’ provincial governors work with local government organizations and listen to opinions from relevant sectors to drive Thailand together. For example, promoting agricultural products and One Tambon One Product (OTOP) in the area, from upstream to downstream products, enhancing infrastructure systems, including electricity, water systems, and installing surveillance cameras at tourist sites to ensure and increase safety of tourists.

          The Ministry of Labour’s agencies will support the missions, such as labour skill training, by extending this to workers in the area to be able to apply them to work, promoting online marketing, employment at the local community level, skill development in terms of upskill, reskill and new skills, following the needs of all labour groups. Efforts will also ensure protection for formal and informal workers, receiving eligible benefits to ensure their life security.
