Mr. Pongkawin Jungrungruangkit, Minister of Labour, stated that he was deeply honoured to preside over the opening of this international seminar, organised by TOSH, whose mission is to promote knowledge, innovation, research, academic services, and personnel development in occupational health, safety, and environment. This international academic seminar, OAIC 2025, is of great significance as a global platform where experts from around the world can exchange knowledge, foster innovation, and build international networks, thereby advancing a sustainable safety culture in line with the Ministry of Labour’s key policies.

Mr. Pongkawin added that today’s event reflects a shared commitment to raising the safety standards of Thai workers in accordance with international benchmarks. Workplace safety is not only a duty but also a vital mission that requires genuine cooperation from all sectors. The most important priority must always be the health and lives of workers.

“I would like to thank TOSH for organising this event to elevate safety standards across all dimensions in Thailand. It is important to capture and learn from valuable lessons, with a strong emphasis that ‘workers’ lives must come before anything else,’” Mr. Pongkawin said.

Mr. Nuntachai Panyasurarit, Director of TOSH, remarked that building a sustainable safety culture remains a challenge in ensuring workplace safety for all groups of workers. He highlighted that technology will be a crucial driver in transforming workplace safety in an era of constant change, helping to improve workers’ quality of life and prevent occupational accidents.

TOSH continues to advance the creation of a sustainable safety culture across all sectors, including industrial workers, office employees, informal workers, and migrant workers nationwide. Through academic development in safety and workplace safety promotion activities, many establishments have significantly reduced occupational accident rates. This demonstrates a shared determination to instill a deeply rooted “culture of safety.”
