Labour Minister Expresses Condolences for Passing of Interpreter from Riyadh Labour Office and Requests Royal Grounds for Religious Ceremony

                        The Labour Minister expressed his condolences to the family for the passing of Mr. Mad Ma-min, a Thai interpreter from the Saudi Arabia Labour Office (Riyadh) whose lungs became infected by resistant bacteria. Mr. Mad died at 12.00 hours. The Ministry of Labour asked for a royal ground from the Bureau of the Royal Household for relatives to carry out the burial according to the Islamic procedure.

                        On September 18, 2020, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin gave his condolences for the passing of Mr. Mad Ma-min, an interpreter from the Saudi Arabia Labour Office, whose lungs became infected by resistant bacteria. Before his passing, he was infected with Covid-19 from helping workers return to their country. He was healed and was left with symptoms from his respiratory system. He returned for treatment at Rajavithi Hospital on September 2 and died today (September 18, 2020) at 12.00 hours, at Rajavithi Hospital. His relatives will bring the body for an Islamic ceremony tomorrow, at Bang Nam Prieo, Chachoengsao. The Ministry of Labour has requested the royal land from the Bureau of the Royal Household to bring relatives to the Islamic burial.

                        Mr. Mad Ma-min, 54, resided at 17/1 Moo 13, Tambal Don Koh Ka, Bang Nam Prieo, Chachoengsao. He graduated with a degree in Theology from Al-Ashhar University in Cairo, Egypt. Mr. Mad was married to Mrs. Anurak Ma-min. Together, they had two children, Mr. Rye Han Ma-min, 17, and Mr. Zayfan Ma-min, 14.

                        Mr. Mad has experience working as an Arabic language teacher at Buranasat Islamic School, Khlong Sip, Nong Chok, Bangkok. Over ten years later, in 1997, he was placed as an interpreter at the Public Relations Consultant Office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Has joined the job as an interpreter at the Saudi Arabia Labour Office (Riyadh) since 1998 as temporary employment abroad. He had a good command of Arabic and English. He was primarily responsible for coordinating with the government agencies of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Lebanon, Kuwait, and Libya in pursuing the benefits of Thai workers traveling to Saudi Arabia, such as tracking unpaid wages, payment of the Saudi Social Security (GOSI), and monitoring coordination for Thai workers wishing to return to Thailand. Mr. Mad worked in the Labour Office for over 22 years and helped Thai workers in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Lebanon who were sick, to return home. He carried out his work successfully and became ill from lung infection from drug-resistant bacteria and died later when he returned to Thailand for treatment.
