The Minister of Labour stated that she has instructed the Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Social Security Office to coordinate with all insured persons to inform them of the benefits they will receive. At the preliminary stage, the benefits applicable to each injured person from the crane accident have already been identified, categorised by the relevant section under which they are insured, as detailed below:

  1. Insured persons under Section 33 (permanent employees/wage earners): Ms. Yanathip Boonchit and Mr. Witthaya Sangthong are entitled to medical treatment and may receive treatment at hospitals under their entitlement without any charges until treatment is completed. In emergency cases requiring treatment at other hospitals, reimbursement may be claimed in accordance with the prescribed regulations. They are also entitled to income compensation when a doctor orders them to stop work for medical treatment, amounting to 50% of wages (up to a maximum of 15,000 Baht) for a maximum of 90 days per incident. In the event of disability (if any), they will receive income compensation at 50% of wages for life, as well as medical service fees in accordance with the criteria.
  2. Insured persons under Section 40 (informal workers/self-employed):  Ms. Boonthita Na Ubon and Ms. Phutthawadee Phraphuban are entitled to benefits depending on the “option” under which they have paid contributions (options 1, 2, or 3). Benefits include income compensation (in cases of illness/injury). For hospital admission (IPD), compensation of 300 Baht per day is payable. For cases where hospital admission is not required but a medical certificate is issued requiring rest for 3 days or more, compensation of 200 Baht per day is payable. Eligibility for benefits is subject to the contribution conditions of each selected option.
