Labour Minister Leads Team on Roadshow for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Programs for Workplace Insurers and Meets PM Before Cabinet Meeting

            On March 14, 2019, at 15.30 hours, Labour Minister, H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo welcomed Prime Minister General Prayuth Chano-ocha; Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister, General Prawit Wongsuwan; and Minister of Public Health, Dr. Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn on a visit to view an exhibition of health promotion and disease prevention programs for insurers in the workplace at the 1st floor of the Command Building, Government House. The viewing took place before the Cabinet meeting. Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark and the ministry’s executives were also present to welcome the visiting party. 

 

         The Labour Minister said that the Ministry of Labour has focused on the health of workers following the national strategy. The Social Security Office thus organized a health promotion and disease prevention program for insurers in the workplace to take care of insurers nationwide, in hopes that workers maintain healthy and are more conscious of their health. Workers can access medical facilities in the workplace conveniently to create security for work, and access to state services to reduce social inequality, leading to stability, prosperity and sustainability.
         In the past, the Ministry of Labour organized 2 health promotion and disease prevention programs for insurers; the first time was at Amata City, Chonburi and the second time at Thep Kincho Foods Co., Ltd., Samut Sakhon. Both events received good cooperation from the establishments and hospitals which provided oral health, eye and hearing examinations, laboratory examinations, chest x-rays and cervical cancer examination for example, with a team of specialized doctors to advise workers, employees and insurers for better physical and mental health.
