Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin presented assistance funds to the family of Mr. Mad Mamin, an interpreter at the Saudi Labour Office (Riyadh), as compensation for the end of his work, together with extra money and subsidies from the provident fund, which was given by the Prime Minister. The total amount was over two million and two hundred thousand Baht, to help and encourage the family of Mr. Mad Mamin.
On December 14, 2020, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin gave assistance funds to Mrs. Anurak Mamin, wife of Mr. Mad Mamin, an interpreter at the Saudi Labour Office (Riyadh), and her family as compensation for the end of her husband’s work. The amount was 1,851,643.67 Baht, together with a special allowance of 290,464.22 Baht, and a living fund to Mr. Mad Mamin’s family, who died from working and fulfilling his role to assist Thai workers in Saudi Arabia during the Covid-19 pandemic, amounting to 100,000 Baht from Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha. The fund from the Prime Minister was giving at the ceremony to aid officials affected from carrying out their duties on the prevention and mitigation of the Covid-19 epidemic, in which Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol was a recipient on December 4. The total amount was 2,242,107.89 Baht to help and support the family. The occasion took place at the Chatumongkol Room, 6th floor, Ministry of Labour. Advisor to the Labour Minister Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, the Labour Minister’s Secretariat Mr. Suthep Chitayavong, the Ministry of Labour’s executives, Advisor to the Chief of the Muslim in Thailand and President of the Tha It Sub-District Garden Administration Mr. Prida Cheupoodee, Member of the House of Representatives in Bangkok District 19, Palang Pracharath Party, Mr. Prasit Mahamad, Bangkok Hospital representative Dr. Kasidis Srisanga, wife of Mr. Mat Mamin Mrs. Anurak Mamin and her two sons, also participated in the event. Mr. Mad Mamin, Interpreter at the Saudi Labour Office (Riyadh), died from a lung infection. His Majesty gave royal grounds for a special burial on September 19 at the Bustanul Arifene Mosque in Bang Nam Priao, Chachoengsao. The Labour Minister said that Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha had been concerned for the family of Mr. Mad Mamin, who lost their family pillar. He, therefore, assigned the Ministry of Labour to take care of and support the family. Today, compensation has been provided for the end of work, including extra compensation and contributions from the provident fund given by the Prime Minister. The total amount exceeds two million and two hundred thousand Baht to help and encourage Mr. Mad’s family.
Mr. Suchart said that Mr. Mad Mamin had been an interpreter for the Ministry of Labour for over 20 years. He is considered a selfless person who has helped Thai workers in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Lebanon, working to help sick Thai people return home during the Covid-19 pandemic. In carrying out his work, he fell ill from a lung infection caused by drug-resistant bacteria and returned to recover until he eventually died in Thailand. For assistance from the Ministry of Labour, the Labour Minister and the Permanent Secretary assigned the Office of International Cooperation to coordinate with relevant agencies to assist the family, such as receiving the royal land for burial, a grant from the Welfare Fund of the Office of the Permanent Secretary of Labour in the amount of 50,000 Baht, and to receive a royal decoration in the special case for the deceased, the Most Nobel Order of the Crown of Thailand insignia. A letter has also been made to the Comptroller General’s Department about requesting approval to pay extra compensation for ending work to Mr. Mad. A total of 2,142,107.89 Baht has been approved. A letter has also been made to the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office to request an account donation to the “Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office to donate to support problems arising from the Covid-19 pandemic” which received 100,000 Baht from the provident fund.
