The Labour Minister presented grant certificates for career support and gave a speech to technical training graduates in Japan, urging them to bring back and apply knowledge and experiences for a valuable benefit.
On October 16, 2019, Labour Minister M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul presided over the grant certificate awarding ceremony for career support and gave a speech to technical training graduates in Japan. The event took place at the Jompol P. Pibulsongkram Room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour. Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol, together with the ministry’s executives, also joined the occasion. The Labour Minister congratulated the technical trainees in Japan and admired the demonstration of hard work, patience, and diligence in practicing professional work for the specified period for 3 years. Currently, the Department of Employment has sent 5,030 Thai technical trainees to Japan for 2019, whereby 137 trainees have returned to Thailand already; the sponsorship grants have totaled 23,309,935 Baht. Today, 94 technical training graduates were awarded grant certificates for career support, with each person receiving 600,000 Yen, or about 170,000 Baht, used as a capital for SME business.
M.R. Chatumongol further said that all technical training graduates are considered essential for national development in terms of economy, society, and national security because of their knowledge, experience, skills, and discipline gained from technical training in Japan. Furthermore, the success of everyone demonstrates the diligence to drive businesses or even conduct personal enterprises that technical trainees choose to pursue a career in, with efficiency and effectiveness. The fund received today can also be used to support their careers, and for recipients to be confident that it will be used for valuable benefits, helping to strengthen the economic stability of the country, the trainees themselves, their families and the community.
The Department of Employment’s Deputy Director-General and Acting Director-General Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat added that in 2019, the Department of Employment has the goal of sending 500 people for training; this year it has already delivered 398 people. There are currently 1,113 people still training in Japan. The technical training is a 3-year program. Once the 3-year duration is complete, trainees who have passed the skills assessment will be able to stay for another two years, for a total of 5 years.
