Labour Minister Shows Concern for Flooding in South; Orders Agencies to Support Workers and Employers

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin ordered agencies in the southern provinces that were affected by the flood to expedite mobilization to aid and care for workers, companies, and people, alleviate distress and provide relief in occupation and employment the water subsides.
          On December 3, 2020, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin spoke about the flooding in many provinces in the south, causing many people to suffer. He said that Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha is concerned for the people and urged all agencies to integrate and expedite urgent assistance. As the Labour Minister, he has monitored the situation and is concerned about workers, company employees, companies, and the people who have suffered. Therefore, he has instructed the agencies in each province that were affected to assist and care for those who have suffered and provide necessities for living. He has ordered the monitoring of the deceased to provide compensation benefits under the Social Security Act, rehabilitation and treatment of occupation, and employment, including repair services for home appliances and small agricultural engines. This also includes career training and caring for the victims regarding social security rights and rights under the labour protection law after the flooding.
          Mr. Suchart said that he had instructed all agencies under the Ministry of Labour in the area to take care of the affected persons according to their duties by expediting to help the general public, including employees, employers, and the affected business establishments. Efforts include monitoring the situation and working with various departments in the province, and assigned labour volunteers to monitor and report the situation.
